Yes, what he said! Number Plates have to have the correct spacing twixt the letters and numbers, be the correct font, be the correct size (width & height) have the manuf's name & postcode on there and also the correct BS number. The Plate size needs to be correct also even if all the above is correct. MOT Testers have to comply for the reasons Andy states so if you're going to bend the rules make sure you go in with the orginal plates on then swap back later. However that still won't stop PC Plod doing U at any point he takes a fancy to if U draw attention.
i know its now come in about the DPF on diesels, removing them sort out so many problems, increase fuel economy and limp modes. MOT are now to check for welding on them, im not worried .......... honest
Had an mot failure on a towbar and electrics yesterday.L/hand indicator not working unless you fiddle about with the socket the insides were corroded, the wiring was hanging down 3 inches in places and the double socket bracket was hanging on by 10mm.The rest of the bracket had been rotted out.The guy had to have a new electrics set up.If you have towbars make sure the electrics work 13 pins only cos some MOT stations are testing the 7 pins which is wrong.. This one failed on the bracket and wire only.We tested the sockets to make sure it was all working before carryting out the work.
On my previous bike I had a 364 day plate. And an MOT plate. 5 mins to swap them over while the bike warmed up on MOT day - job done But yeah, some MOT places seem to actively find things that are wrong - while other don't bother. My previous bike was an import so the headlight alignment was wrong. I only found this out after 6 years of ownership when one particularly zealous MOT tester failed me for it. It had passed all previous MOTs! It's a lottery it seems....
Although Honda cars are not cheaply built and I have always been very happy with them. I once got a partial lift to Birmingham in an Audi A4. I jumped out of my CR-V (your shape) into the Audi and wow what a difference. Door closing was nice and comforting and the wind/road noise significantly less. But then again the Audi wasn't cheap. I think the new CR-V shape is trying too had to be a Volvo XC.
Yea had an 09 A4 before this, but needed something taller for my hip and knee issues and bigger boot for kids (don't worry I mean for their stuff, they only ride in boot if naughty) wish i hadn't to be honest even the Audi dash created a nicer environment if that makes sense. I think they make the best interiors
My new A4 was delivered last weekend. Had the last one for 7 years & it never let me down. Great cars.
The plate on the Wife's car is technically illegal but only a very minor discrepancy, can anyone spot the 'infringement' ?
