Already told the wife, gave her the option of going on the bike and leaving the kids but 1) she does not like bikes and 2) the kids want to come. Yes may be a very long day,. aiming to get their early and leave late but many many Redbull should help me as the family are asleep
right less than a week to go looking at the timetable Buy Tickets for MotoGP Moto gp 3 ends approx 3:15PM. anyone who has been before and I am aware of the traffic issues and long ques. When is the best time after Moto GP to leave to miss huge Ques help
If two years ago was anything to go by, most people left after the MotoGP race and the traffic queues out were quite nasty, ISTR. Bike is definitely the way to go, but if taking the family then I would aim to get there as early as possible and leave as late as you can but with kids in tow I guess that decision may be out of your hands! Looking forward to going again this weekend, if this rain ever lets up.
great reply. I was wondering if leaving early after the moto gp was a good or bad idea. I would rather leave later and not have the huge amount of traffic. I am going to take pillows and blankets for the kids to sleep on the way up and back. leaving at 6AM hopefully so little traffic until I get to the circuit. I was told that parking in the field to the left of the circuit is a good idea as there is a way out that misses the traffic he red highlights the field you want to be parked in, then the blue highlights the windy 1-track road you go down to eventually come out on the A43.
were staying the night before and after about 40 mile away so aiming to be there for 8 ish and probably leave about 5 ish unless bad weather then probably 3 ish. theres another race around 5pm that has few bsb boys in it so might be worth watching.
I want to go up on Friday but going to give the rest a miss this year, dont be fooled that parking on the sly will get you out as they put a stop to anyone trying to escape any other way than where they want you to go! And tbh all the local exit roads are Policed and coned off, last year it was gridlock and took 1.5hrs to get to the road from the field through the wood, the weathers looking crap again this year and after last year I am not getting drowned again however I would love to go on race day IF the weather changes.. Fingers crossed!
Me and a few friends are going up on Friday and heading back on Sunday evening, camping so hopefully it won't be too grim
I hear that! It's not stopped raining here now for 24 whole hours. I don't want to have to take the car on the weekend, that's for sure!
AHHH COCK IT. well hope it changes. they said Monday Bristol would have rain Tue afternoon, and wed. had nothing since Monday yet. but coming in later this Afternoon. So I can hope it changes
Sure it'll be ok. Should be showers rather than p*ss-istently raining like last year, with the looks of it.
Looking like a dry race now... w00t! BBC Weather : Silverstone (shame about the showers for qualifying though!)
