But if he can stay up with these 2 then that would be enough success for 2013, i dont think its about winning the title for him this year, but a top 3 spot will show he's still got it.

The king is back ! Long live the King! In my opinion the best bike rider of all time is back and has a smile on his face. Valentino Rossi is the best Moto GP rider ever, and 2013 will be all the better for him being on the Yamaha Write him off at your leisure people! He has never been the best tester / qualifier but he is the best racer!!! I was lucky enough to see him at Lemans last year and his 2nd place in the wet literally raised the roof When this man hangs up his leathers, the world will be a poorer place. Sport needs Valentino's and the next character was taken away from us (RIP Marco) Would Lorenzo or Pedroza have put it in the dirt at Laguna Seca to win a race? I think not So lets celebrate the talent that is Valentino Rossi
I am very much hoping for a 3 way butt fcuk for Lorenzo for all to see by Rossi, Pedrosa & Marquez That might put the arrogant, self-righteous, holier than thou James Blunt in his place
He is pretty good though...very consistent in laptimes and positions. He finished every race in 1st or 2nd place last year - except when he got punted off. Not the peoples champion though.
Yeah I know mate he is good there's no deny it! He just gets on my thrupenny bits with his attitude and the way he treats fellow racers! He thinks he is God! I can't be doin with him a bit like Schumacher very much up his own arse! But Everyone else on the grid I love
I quite like Lorenzo, I can see why he is not popular, but he is relatively quiet compared to some sports personalities. He may not be the most exciting rider but he has phenomenal skills, his consistent fast lap times are something very few riders can achieve. At the end of the day, I judge him on his results and he has been amazing. He has been champion in an era with Rossi, Stoner and Pedrosa who are all immense talents and that is some achievement. This season will hopefully be one of the best yet. My money is still on Marquez, now he is exciting and a great talent. I don't really care about their personalities, I seldom listen to all the hype stuff, I just love to see the racing......that is where the real 'talking' counts.
Lorenzo was my favourite in his first 2 years when he was so keen to win every race he even orbited earth with his trademark high side move - isn't that why he had a astronaut helmet ? Lol 2 broken ankles and finished on podium. When he become that calm and consistent, I'll settle for second place for points I stopped being his fan. Marquez is fast but not consistent. His laptimes at sepang where around 50% for his pace. Rossi at 80 something and Lorenzo at 95+%
In all honesty I can't wait for this years motogp to start, and that's the first time I've said that. With Marc Marquez, and Rossi in there again it should make for a cracking year of racing. I can't pick a winner for this year, but I hope it's not Lorenzo.
Unfortunately, like many sports it is all about money. No doubt Lorenzo (like the others) are controlled by the team and told to secure the points. If you are in second then they would rather have 20 points than risk none by battling for the win and risking a DNF. I would like to see a wider gap in the points between first, second and third, that might shake things up a bit. Should be a great season, a right mix of styles and attitudes, probably be some handbags at dawn.
Why do you want a wider gap in the points? Close championship is better. About finishing second; we've seen it before where Lorenzo was leading and selling for second... Stoner won loads of racers and best him in the end. Like Marquez last year, he had to carry on winning to win. Lorenzo also throws his toys out the pram too early.
Bigger points gap would make them a little more motivated to be first, hence Lorenzo would not be so content to sit back and accept second.Stoner did not win the title, Lorenzo did, so his tactics worked. Lorenzo may get upset but he has been champion twice and he is still young. Bigger points gap would encourage them to go for the win, bit like they did in football when you got two points for a win and 1 for a draw. Making it three points for a win and one for a draw made getting the win more important. I find it a bit boring when riders are just seeing the laps out, rather than chasing down the rider in front. It should be a fun season, not really bothered who wins the title as long as it's close and exciting
No way dude! Bigger points gap means they settle for second or third etc until they take the title.... Close gap is more of a win it or bin it - especially the rider that's chasing. I was talking about 2011..Lorenzo had the lead but got beaten cause lack of wins I think he finished every race in the top three that year too This year should be good though.
bigger points gap!!! that way they cant afford to settle for 2nd or 3rd thats what Exfire means if the guy is closing them down in the title race they have to push on.
