Tbh for that money your going to be looking at older technologies with less codec/resolution selections available. Only suggestion would be to trawl the bay for a used hero cam. Lots of spares and accessories still available if required and they are proven work horses! Other than that sorry can't be of any other help. Good luck.
Sine, i only bought the md80 as a temporary last minute fix for video footage. if (when) i start doing more trackdays i will go pro
I bought a chinese mini cam off Ebay for a tenner to go on my Blade Mini DV DVR HD SPY Video Camera PC Webcam Cam 1280x960 | eBay Does pretty good .MOV and supports MicroSDHC (about 6hrs on a 16Gb card) and tapes just about anywhere to the bike. Here's a pic of it gaffer taped nicely to my crash bung.
I've ordered an MD80 anyway just because it's less than a Tenner. Don't want or need the level of functionality and recording of a Go Pro but would like sumat rain proof which has a screen on it like the small Handi Cams which let you view stuff straight away. Seems a few about at around the £50 mark, just wondering if anyone has any experience of one. A requirement would be being able to have it pluged in to my Dash mounted USB port so battery charge isn't so much an issue but this may require a flap on the camera to be left open which might prove impractical if taped to a Bike?
I think I'll try and mount in the same position next week, how does it look after recording sideways? Do you just rotate the footage? Any examples mate?
My cam isn't an md80, it's a horizontal design, but you can use gaffer tape and it will stick just about anywhere you want.
Just purchased one , at less than a tenner it would be rude not too ! I will use at the TT this year.
Mine rocked up today, must say first impressions aren't too bad however the USB charging lead is a very loose fit in the device which is shat I was planing on leaving it connected whilst riding so that Batt don't run out before the card.
Mine arrived today having ordered them yesterday about 4 o clock. Charging it now and hopefully try it out tommorow.
If you guys are still interested here's a quick vid of the MD80 on the RHS crash bung, please excuse the music track I put it on cos the wind noise is terrible!! The quality is slightly reduced and a bit jolty cos I had to reformat it and flip the video- bike vids - YouTube
Just tried out mine today on the right hand crash bung. First problem, it was sitting too high so just saw the sky. next time I will position it lower[Next problem was cause I positioned it sideways the video is sideways and I cant seem to flip it. I love my drift cam, uses the industry standard screw mount so no special mounts are needed unlike some other brands.
