Seein as how I'm 'getting-on' a bit I'd like to be able to re-programme for 'Leagues per Flagon' too.
Its just these types of things that make the British stand out from Johnny Foreigner, and rightly allow us to claim our title of being completely fooked up in our museum piece of a country, long may it continue
I have the same issue, just got my New Fireblade on Friady which I love. I realised then it only does m/l which isn't helpful. I will just have to do the x 4.5 hopefully this is accurate. Had a K1300, was very handy knowing how much you had in your reserve. After introducing the new dash, thought they would have installed a fuel gauge...oh well never mind.
It's because the bastards don't want us to realise we are paying £6 a gallon for unleaded, eco-unfriendly, people starving bio petrol!! I remember the fuss from my Dad and his mates when proper petrol (4/5 star) went up to 70p a gallon
As long as the oil companies don't realize we're prepared to pay around £30.00 for a gallon of beer we should be OK.
Of course their gallons are smaller than UK ones... Shall we start a discussion on how much better litres are as they're all the same size (Even if they can't spell it). H
Spose the bottom line is thrape the living daylights out of it or take it easy and get between 90-150 miles before hitting reserve. When Reserve is activated ride it like you would in the rain and we should all get around 30 miles before running dry.
Picked the bike up after a service today, filled it and went and blatted a 150 mile loop around some of my favourite roads (all legal limits of course ), 139 to reserve light, 159 with 0.4 gal showing, filled bike to same point, 15.4 litres, so still 2.3 left in tank, so approx 185 to dry. So would have been around 40 on reserve light.
Just to point out the obvious. The Fireblade is a SPORTS BIKE for fucks sake, not an OLD BUS TOURER. Having an average distance run calculation on the clocks is a fucking gimmick. Reset clocks every fill up, ride spirited for 90 - 100 miles, take it easy for 20 - 30 miles, fill up during that period. Bet the RCV doesn't have one....
Agreed, but when you are doing 20K a year on one, its nice on the wallet to have a little economy, as an example my old 929 struggled to better 30mpg, the RRA does 50, that's a difference of £1700 a year in unleaded or over the life of 90K that I run it, a total of £7663 fuel saving.........so that's a new Blade for free in 4 years use....starts to become important if you ride it rather than garage it.
Even dafter with the 2012, is that once it goes onto reserve it starts counting up in 0.1 of a gallon, very confusing when you swap from a 2008 blade to a 2012. I suppose you should read the instructions, but I'm male and we don't do that sort of thing. Agree, mirrors are terrible. I am tempted to buy the extenders, not sure if I'd have to disconnect wires to indicators and I don't do that sort of thing anymore.
So I take its only from 2012 on they use mpl instead of mpg? One more question, when mine hits resreve it says 0.0gal So I take it that I run out of reserve gas at around 0.7?
