These things happen and whilst it's shite what really matters is how they treat you from now on. Keep us informed and good luck mate.

Unless you get a new engine or a new bike, you'll always have that nagging doubt and be waiting for it to go boom!!!
I'd be saying that the engine isn't fit for purpose!

That's the tact I'd be taking....

Yeah, one day may be too soon, the bike will need to be looked at and people spoken to. I'd give it till Wednesday afternoon.

    Cam chain tensioner failure.
Now waiting on MV to decide if to replace the parts or replace the engine.

    Regards,

    Rob.

I dont know what are they waiting for.
You bought a brand new MV and it supposed to be new.
I could take weeks until the parts will arrive and the engine will run again.
Are you getting any compensation ? At least you should get a MV courtesy motorcycle for the time
until your MV is ready to go again.

Personally, I would not be happy with a repaired engine! Or a replacement engine! I would be insisting on my money back or a replacement bike. If they refuse, I'd be contacting a solicitor! The main component in a vehicle has failed and they want to bodge it together, simply not acceptable in my book! God knows what damage it's done to the other components in the engine!!! Sorry, just my two Peneth worth.

Had a phone call from Italy today saying how sorry they were about the bike and they had been in contact with the dealer and the UK representative.

Looks like Italy are prepared to supply a new engine but If I want a new bike or my money back that must come from the UK dealer.

UK dealer have sent a email saying they are looking at how best to help me.

What happens with the v5 if you went down the new engine route, does it show up changes made like a new engine similar to a change of owner?

Would the change cause any issues down the line on resale value?
    Show up on hpi check?

Guess there is a few questions you need to ask yourself before accepting any of the options you are presented from dealer/manufacturer.

Update on my MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR

MV Agusta UK have decided their is no damage to the engine and that it just needs the cam chain tensioner replaced.

This had been ordered from ITALY as UK do not keep or have no stock.

They have asked me to wait to get the bike repaired before they will consider replacement of the bike, reimbursing me the money is not a option, I would need to start court proceedings if I want to go down that road, and I don't really want to go down that road yet.

They don't answer my emails and it is difficult to speak to the person directly dealing with the bike he is always out.

There is no UK customer care, the dealer I bought the bike from forgot to register the warranty, (said it was my fault as they did not know my DOB, but they had a copy of my driving licence).

No idea when I will get my bike back unable to give a date when the spares will be in the UK.
