Back in 2008 I bought a new £25k Ducati 1098R and a £40k Ducati Desmosedici RR without a test ride, was I disappointed after they arrived, definitely not.

Your certainly not going to be disappointed with the 2015 S1000RR, unless you find the excess of performance disappointing!! LOL

Enjoy, it's going to be awesome

Just make sure it comes with the Pirelli Supercorsa and not the shitty Bridgestone etc
There are 3 tyre choices but you won't know what your getting until it arrives.

Thanks for the reply, the bikes you bought are awesome, do you still have the desmo?
Fortunately the BM has the Pirelli tyres on them as its sitting in the showroom and it's the one tyre that I wanted.
I'm not sure I would have rejected it with another make as I'd have had to re order another bike, but I'm certainly happier with them after running corsas on the blade

Went to see the dealer yesterday, they had all the colours options there. Got my test ride booked for next Saturday so looking forward to that. I'll be the first one on the bike so I was told it'll have a restriction on up to 9000rpm to the first service when they unlock it, never heard of that before!!
As I expected they could do part ex on my 09, 6k, immaculate HRC for mid to late £5K haha!
Wasn't really impressed with the PCP as a finance option, bascially leasing the bike for a few years.
Their allocation of bikes have nearly been sold and I was told next batch would be April/May then after this would be end of the year, for a 2015 model??
We shall see. When do you got yours Dif?

Stunning bike Dif, I went to the launch weekend and I'm really tempted but I was only offered high 5k for my 2011 non abs with 6kmiles, so I'm not sure but it is the bike I would have without a doubt. Enjoy yours buddy.

I was happy with £5700 for my abs 09 with 10k on it, but I didn't pay much more than that 3 years ago and I've had a lot of fun.
Not sure If id get much more as a private sale with the usual test pilots and scammers so it takes the hassle away for me.
The bikes sitting there ready to go on March 1st.
    :)

The first service at 600 miles will unlock the limiter which is set at 9k revs.
Not sure what that costs, but as someone else said on another forum, you have to pay even more money to get the full benefit of the bike lol.

Cool, gives me some money to spend on new leathers. At this rate I'll be selling a kidney to fund this expensive hobby.
I'm thinking that buying it is going to be the easy part, as I've said nothing to my wife yet.
Honda /BMW I'm hoping they all look the same....
I think the slick mode is something that comes with the performance pack. Not sure if it's done by scrolling through the modes on the dash or if it needs to be done by adjusting something under the seat?

Certainly looks a lot easier changing to slick mode on the new bike.
I'd like to see how smart he is fumbling under the seat while trying to pull a wheelie :p

This is the beast I took out on Saturday. It'd only done just over 100 miles and all the rural roads I went on were strewn in mud and shite so couldn't get a full feel for it. This came fitted with extras like the Gilles levers (£300) and the Gilles rearsets (£500) and the screen as little teasers on the demo bike. Overall a great bike, well balanced, it was rev limited but the midrange was excellent, and the exhaust note was addictive, popping on the quick shifter changing up and on the overrun, how they get away with that as standard I don't know.
The only thing I couldn't get on with, and let it down for me was the quick shifter or the gear assist pro, it deffo wasn't working right. I've never ridden a bike with a quick shifter before but I'm sure when changing from second to third the gear lever is mean't to just drop in? no, it just kept hitting a dead stop until I rolled off the throttle slightly then it would go in and it didn't seem to work right on clutchless downshifting on a close throttle, it needed the throttle partially open a tad for this to work and it wasn't smooth, quite jerky and unsettling on the bike, could just be me of course and it was a brand new bike.
Got it covered in shite which was a shame but for the morning I had it, it was great fun. For those who haven't, book a demo and have a go. Oh yeh this had the slick and race options which gets activated from under the seat as Barne said

I've read about some bikes having problems with the shifters, I wonder if it's to do with riding styles and just needing an adjustment?
    Fingers crossed mine is ok.
Can you put the pics again as I can't open them. Ta.

That's interesting. I did ask about sensitivity adjustment but they didn't know but kept telling that it's a new bike so the box will be tight so to speak. 2 to 3 was a right pain in the arse though. I had to adjust the clutch free play myself as it didn't want to change down into first or neutral so I sometimes found myself stopped in 3rd with the clutch in and no way would it go down. The only way to get going again was by slipping the clutch but I did take a lot of play out of the clutch lever and it worked after this. Other than that it was a great bike, I loved it. Couldn't see the point in changing the can it sounded awesome, a head turner even!!

Well, had an update from the dealer who can secure me a bike with spec I'm after for March with the trade in of mine for £5800, hahaha not what I was expecting, shouldn't be suprised really!!

It could be that the gear change issues I was experiencing could be down to the newly fitted rearsets, I'm guessting anyway.

What spec were you looking at? My insurance started off at £600 and now quoted £350??
    It's a lottery
