Yep me too Martin, think the headlight will look very trick Cant send them until next friday as skint until then bloody Christmas!!!
Have they given you a quote yet Martin? Plan is to be on track at the ARD day at Odiham on the 25th April or whenever it is around that date, Hopefully couple of weeks on the road beforehand to see how things are.. So mid April is the target I also get a nice heathy bonus from work end of March which will be the money to finish stuff off, buy exhaust etc perhaps power commander and custom map
Hopefully not too expensive because I'm tight I'm mean skint, even bought my bike camera today on nectar points
he was still on zie german forum thought you were slacking a bit with the vlog there LC, and then you posted one..... a few more days and we would have been on to you keep up the good work!
Thanks Skippy Well big day yesterday.. finally got the balls to cut my nice tank open!! Was very nerve racking have to say, all went well but unfortunatly around the filler cap the angle grinder burn a small section of paint must have held it in one place too long. I think I will hide it with a professionally applied bit of carbon wrap around the neck just enough to hide it.. Any other ideas? Tank cut open, bit nicer inside than my dummy one! I will get some rubber trim to put around the sharp edges feel the burn
What a shame, I can see the burn spot but will any of the burns haze maybe T-cut back then you might be able to pop a spot of white touch up paint on where the burn started I appreciate the paint might be thin on the fuel flap lip but I know it would bug the life out if me as every time you look down it's going to catch your eye
Yes very annoying Andy for sure.. I tried a little Tcut but as its burned from the hot metal below the paint I think taking it back will make it worse. Will have a think about whats the best way to approach it.. Perhaps one of these professional scratch repair people might me able to touch it up and get it looking reasonable..
Good idea, we use a company called Revive at work Car Scratch Repair & Car Paint Repair - Cost Effective | Revive! Very reasonable, and will come to your house
the first thing that came to mind when I read it was use some kind of decal, get someone to cut out a nice circle about 1cm bigger than the filler cap and then cut out the filler cap, so you are left with 1cm of carbon wrap or another color( red or blue ) around the filler cap..... other than that it looks good
Thanks Andy, yes Skippy that was my first thought too.. done professionally would probably look perfect tbh.. Will try Revive send them some photos see what they think if they dont think they can hide it will go the wrap route. Could have been a whole lot worse though so overall happy
