Was your Austin racing exhaust for a blade or another model?

I believe for another one, bmw, but don't shoot me if I'm wrong.....

Sell the austin and buy an arrow GP2 for a new model blade and get a piece fabricated to slot onto the headers and where the arrow can slot onto that.
I got a piece made for putting a long akra demper on the arrow GP2 link pipe, easy peasy!!!

good luck with it all matey!

Yes the austin system is from an s1000. Think it's going on eBay...

Looking at small akro gsxr 750 can on ebay at the moment which will mount low under the rearsets. Will be much easier to mount to a similar sized system I would think. Could be loud though..

    No worries mate.

Hopefully he can sort you out. Can't see how not though as it's just a link.

Thanks for all the help chaps but think ive found a easier solution with a GSXR750 Akra end can. Picked it up yesterday from ebay for £150, good nick just needs a new sticker and some polish on the link pipe. It was one of the exhausts in my short list anyway and has the option to add an baffle (dont have it unfortunately) and should look very nice when fitted. Also means I can sell the Austin system for good money and be up a couple of hundred quid at least! Also as it tucks right under the rearset leaves the nice banana swinging arm on show and doesn't detract from the lines of the bike.

Cant see how close the fit is until I have my link piece back from Austin racing but I think by cutting a section out of the link piece it can work quite well and the system seems about the same size as the blade system so I hope a much easier prospect to weld together!

    Anyway some pics

Will a 750 exhaust not be restrictive? Or is it ok as it's an aftermarket part

Looking at the bore Martin it a very similar size to the headers and as its going to be a very short system dont think it matters to much.. It wont be ideal being so short I dont suppose but hopefully custom map can release as much potential as possible.

this will still make a lot of noise, a mate has one on a 750 K7 and bloody hell it's nearly as loud as my arrowGP on the blade...... I would definitely be looking for a baffle if you intend trackdays...

I reckon that will still look goo on the bike. hopefully you can get it all sorted soon, we're all waiting for it to finish :cool:

Thanks skippy, yeah going to need a baffle will have to look out for one on the bay. Think it's going to look spot on tbh, have it's rested on and looks good. Just hope I can get it under 105db with the baffle in.. Also has not for road use stamped on which is annoying.. May have to get that off haha

Should be fine as my MOT chap is very forgiving.. Providing it doesnt set car alarms off and rattle windows as I ride by :)

Found a good local welding shop in Portsmouth who weld Titanium all grades so going to take the link pieces down tomorrow and let him check them over to be sure they can be welded together before I hack up the new can, then will cut up the new can to get it in a good position and take the parts back down to be welded together.. Hopefully will be quite quick... never know! Could be going for a test ride at the weekend at this rate :)
