I'm off to see mcbusted in concert before you lot start it was my wife's Christmas present It's up in Birmingham so we are staying the night so on the way home we can pop into the bike museum
Thanks sps, going back to welding shop tomorrow, changed the position again as wasn't quite right before it's now tucked under more. Hoping to have it sorted tomorrow! You will love it clarkey I'm sure, bike museum that is
Not going to be ready for this weekend chaps anyway, wicked coatings need until the end of the week to finish the tail. Then need to get the mot sorted etc.. Also exhaust still at task welding, some debate whether the akro can is titanium after all. Welding it is getting more complicated all the time! Should be done tomorrow i hope.. Good news is sold the austin racing system for £500 so freed up some cash quickshifter anyone! Haha
Nearly there Skippy, been back and forth 5 or 6 times to task welding now to be sure the fit is correct before the final welding happens. Will have it back today. Yippee!! They have done a great job on it, turns out the Akro can is stainless on the connecting piece in the end which was good news as they have done a super job welding it as was tricky as had to build up an piece to get the angle I wanted. (pics later) Now they are just adding a bracket so I can hang it under the bike and adding a band around of stainless steel around the join with the Ti link piece. Will explain with pics later today but its looking good! Also the tail will be ready Friday so im planning to drive down to Poole take the day off work and pick it up and perhaps do some videoing of Wicked Coatings for the blog channel, perhaps show some carbon dipping in progress
Ok quick pic to help explain what they have added. Will show finished pic later when I collect it tonight
nope indeed Martin!! May even take a sneaky ride later tonight if the pipe is back with the old tail on
haha, you had all winter to play around with your bike and you choose now weather looks ok for the weekend too!!
Well all picked up and mounted pic of the welding completed with hanging bracket All fitted and bolted on When its stops raining will push it outside for some better pics
looks a great job.. begs the question could they have made something up for the previous exhaust? never mind, thats in the past now and that looks and I'm sure will sound fantastic..
Thanks Gilesy, no they couldn't have done anything with the old AR system.. Well its very unlikely I did mean to take it down to them before I posted it off but im sure they couldn't.. It was hard enough to join this and thats with two pieces the same size! One being twice as large would have been asking too much. Just started the bike and it sounds nice, not too loud and with a baffle I think track days wont be a problem.. Well not heard it at full beans but fingers crossed! Just awaiting that dam tail and im done
