Great work Lambchops, work of art mate. Putting me to shame, have a whole raft of winter upgrades to do on my NC30 and so far managed to cut in a new RR, going to take some inspiration from your efforts matey, need to get out in the cold and get on with it.
Thanks KB, helps the garage is nice and warm have to say Well soldered all my wiring together, ran out of insulation tape to finish off the ends Other end stripped and ready on the bike end, removed about 12 inches of wiring in the end and now the loom fits perfect Lets hope it still bloody works!!
That's a lorra lorra wires there lambchops! Will the first switch on be something along the lines of...
Well spent ages doing these headlights now but am finally on the home stretch. As part of doing these wanted to have both lights running on low beam and then use the high low switch to activate high when needed. Moving away from the single light on low and both for high. Did a lot of research and finally found out the solution. I will make up a wiring diagram if anyone wants to do this, ive also of course videoed a how to I'm also including a switch so when the ignition is on only the LED and halo's are on, then you switch the switch and the lows come on. The high is activated by the handlebar switch as normal. Well decided I wanted this install to be as factory as possible (of course) so I have hard wired these in now, I have cut off the H4 connections on the HID kit and wired directly to the main loom (just before the join to the headlight subloom). That mean I can strip my headlight loom and remove all the bulb connectors, im even going to remove the indicator wires and run those directly from the main loom as hate the messy headlight loom on display. Powered it all up yesterday and hey presto it works!! both lights on and high beam activates as it should. I just need to add a switch now to turn off the lows until the switch is pressed. Anywhere pics, here's the main loom being hacked you can see the two new relays added for the HID either side of the main fuse box. After a bit of tiding, will cover nicely with my f6 cable shielding when the switch wire is added, added an orange ignition live wire ready for my keyless ignition module while I was in there
oh how I've missed the hypnotic voice of John the Lambchop What would a winter be without a "how to"! Rocking a beard and flat cap as well.. nice
OK well part two of the HID install is ready. Took some doing this one, about 15 hours total I think to fit these!
Another great video buddy. Keep them coming. Hopefully I will get to see the bike in the flesh in the summer.
LOL just arrived Steve Need to have a good tidy up in the garage and then I can start. Also fitting a USB 12v charger for the gopro supplied by Mike at BDS. Thanks Shane, try and come to the Goodwood meet up should be a good one.
Thanks Gilesy trying to improve the production value You will pleased to here QS is installed and first impressions are good for the install but bike isn't ready for starting yet until my keyless ignition module arrives I dont want to put the tank back on. Should be here very soon though!
