Just an update on the BSB System

I have a PCV fitted so all I have done so far is fit the Akrapovic Evolution system Map from DJ on and it seems to run nicely, it is going to get a custom map next week to get it set up perfectly and i will be able to tell you how far off the mark it was with a generic evolution map, as the headers are quite different to the ones you can buy from Akrapovic, hence the problems I had fitting them with regards the lower fairing.

I am using the headers with the Carbon Akrapovic end can from the slip on not the BSB end can for 2 reasons

    1. I can fit a baffle if required
    2. The BSB end can is shorter and the std fixing kit wont work to hold the can in place some more work needed there !

Hi JamieREP Bike is looking nice, I've got a full system on mine. One thing to keep an eye on is where the manifold comes quite close to the belly pan at the front, I was worried the fairing might melt, or it might discolour the paint so I got some discounted heat proof tape from Deamon tweaks and after a year its still fine. The shiny tape shows the pipes up nicely too if you keep it clean! You might be fine but its worth keeping an eye on.. Enjoy

Mine comes down through the belly pan ozz

Dips down a lot more than std and also wider so sides needed Dremal work and I them as you said used heat proof foil to protect what was left

It was a lot of work sometimes I think the road version would have been a lot easier ! But I'm happy now and it looks and sounds nice

Will get some pics of the fairing and headers soon so others can see what work is needed !

Advice buy the road evolution headers there almost as light and will fit without as much fuss !

So went to Dyno yesterday making 167 rwhp and 82 tq
Fueling was weak below 7k but ok after that with evo map
Now pulls like a train and smooth as silk lol
It's making the same as the 2010 @ 169 and 82 which was a colder day with slip on akra

So headers look nice Dave weight but don't do anything massive on power !

How did you manage to fix the bsb can? Did you get spare parts somewhere?

Made a small bracket myself out of sheet aluminium and bolted it to the Gilles VCR rearset, luckily there was a spare threaded hole left free, works well would of been more complicated with OE rearset TBH
Will get some pics over the weekend if you like :)

Can you get some pics of the heat proofing too Jamie and whic one you used? Ran mine up first time properly the other day with the road fairing on since I've had the Evo headers on (static as I'm still sorting bits to make it fully road legal for MOT:( ) it does heat up the oem belly pan a bit but once it's on the move should help to cool it, but better safe than sorry so thinking I might stick some heat proofing in.

No probs Dano and charger, stripping it down to do the hoses this weekend I hope just need them to get here today ! There was a lot of cutting in the end I bought the heat proof matting from m and p off eBay and cut to size it has a self adhesive backing which is very good !
