Does it even mean anything? Most will only buy the bike for bragging rights if it wins races / to say they have an 2020 RR-R SP / to be the first ones on the road etc.
Even when I owned my RR9 I don’t think I topped 150 more than a few times and I never tracked it!

I think you are actually missing the point - this isthe representative difference of the 2 bikes in punters hands :)

In a way it means nothing, but it also means everything - as again, comparing the WSBK versions to the street versions is not accurate and these bikes do get club raced as they are :)

Having had a go on a v4s and comparing to my sp it has more shove above high triple speeds. the sp you have to keep focused the Ducati just becomes mental and goes again complete with a v growl....screen and front fairing is bigger so that helps no doubt the new wings are there for a purpose on the new one coming on both brands ..However I found the Honda felt more stable and planted I think the noise of the Ducati also gives the impression of more speed....in standard form the Ducati has more grunt right up top same with new BMW....but you are into porridge speeds by then

Had a 2014 street r for 3 years. Great bike but didn’t completely fulfill me. Old man had a 66 speed for 18 months, tried it, seemed slower, heavier and bulkier (to be expected) than the street. He didn’t like it either. Clocked a total of 900 miles in the 18 months before it made way for the z900rs

I completely agree with you, the V4 is a faster bike. I just don't think that short video is a fool proof way of demonstrating exactly how much faster it is. That is all. Anyway...what are your plans with your SP2? Will you be selling it on and throwing the kitchen sink at the new RR-R?

The same bloke actually owns both bikes and the video really does demonstrate just how mental (as @Wozza correctly describes it) the V4 gets in the high rpm range.

Add in the exhaust system and Ducati provided ECU tune with Evo 2 TC and the 1100cc lump is a literal beast. Technically I now own that SP2 as well to use a development platform for tuning. Depending on what direction the HRC kit goes I may sell the one SP2 to fund an RR-R purchase.

Haha, wasn’t meant for you Nige ;) just trying to make the point that most wont buy the bike just as it has the highest top speed etc. That said BMW sells enough of the S1000RRs as they seem to be (used to be) the craziest bike out there yet whilst it’s done ok on the road racing scene etc it hasn’t exactly set the world alight in racing (wsb etc)

I’d have the one with the best usable power! handles better and gives me a good feeling when I’m riding it... Blah blah all this pub talk about top speed and Hp means squat.... Real world if that exists. My old blade consistently used to outrun mates on 185/195 Hp ZX10’s up-to around 120 and they would only just sneak past above them speeds! also depends very much on the pilot ‍✈️ let’s face it they are all fast as feck and your not going to feel hard done by unless your a competitive track rider chasing sector times, or a club racer.... :D

Agreed, give me my MT10 over most sportsbikes as it has so much useable low down torque. Probably faster point to point as you don’t need to be ‘on It’ everywhere.

Exciting times ahead then, Plus your Triumph :D Looking forward to some real world knowledge and see how it’s going to slot in with the current crop of superbikes. Let’s hope they haven’t made it to track focused! It’s a very fine balance

So the gauntlet has been thrown down for those of you with the tech wiz - a poll is required to ask who will be ordering a 2020 blade at the prices declared. Who’s up for the challenge?

I'm also on the list for an SP although might downgrade to the base model due to the pricing. Will see how things turn out for me financially as well as the reviews over the next couple of months. Oh, and my test ride of course!
Also, speaking to my dealers, they're estimating March launch for SP and the base model in April which doesn't seem to make sense to me so maybe I'm remembering the conversation incorrectly

Have been hearing some bad rumours guys and was wondering if anyone else had heard anything?
New SP blade won't be available until end of April or even late June :-(

Late June is season over if you live in Brecon or Rossendale.
