Hi bud.... I totally stripped the 959 and put it back to complete stock bar the Akropovic system that was already installed when I purchased it. Had serious doubts about the move and a good few sleepless nights wondering if I’d done the wrong thing. I put so much work into it. The reason for such a hard decision to make was purely down to the enjoyment and pleasure it was to ride. Total transformation from the stock bike, every aspect improved upon. I seriously loved riding it hence the hard decision.

Wasn’t until taken delivery of the V4 and noticing even more detail after making some minor ergo adjustments and fitting a few parts off the 959. The only parts that transitioned over were the levers and filler cap! Oh and the oil filler cap! Funny enough that was on my blade too. Lots of Ti bolts also fitted.... But it wasn’t until I rode it for the first time, I’d like to point out in 38 years of riding I’ve never purchased a bike before trying one. Especially of that value! Turns out i had nothing to worry about at all. Just a short 40 min ride ride had me grinning so hard I thought my face was going to fall off!, and wasn’t even really pushing on, So can only imagine what’s to come:D:D:D:D

Yeah guy still has my blade. Shame really as that was still a cracking bike.... That did me proud for 3 seasons and 13k miles and again lots of fun, including the upgrading part....

Would be a great idea. I think @RC45 said this was happening in the US for 2020. The 2019 model is still advertised on the Honda UK website too. Suspect they'll be selling them throughout 2020 until they're all gone.

Have to say if I ever stumbled across a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, this would be the very bike I would go for. Sadly pots of gold don’t exist at the end of rainbows so I’ll have make do with my trusty fireblade (which I’m still very happy to own by the way).
That bike is going to put many a smile on your face, enjoy.:)

Apologies it was me hit the dislike button by mistake I think it's a great bike indeed sniffing around v4s with the drainpipe on the front although my local dealer has demo for sale of last years model so no gills on the fairing etc 800miles 20k big saving of 5k on lastest one....Matt finish on Daves looks even better in the flesh...but I am boring so just like the red...,

The problem with that logic is that that the limitations of the SC77 are frustrating in the context of the other manufacturers regular bikes of the same generation.
As good as the SC77 is, it just seems unfinished. The electronics fall short and there is really nothing you can do about it.

So essentially Honda is saying break the bank on the new one, or buy the unfinished old one that has no trade value and is left behind by ts peers.

I’m definitely going to ride the new blade :D but more out of curiosity. Visually I think it looks stunning, really like the clean lines and the aggressive front end. Even like the way they have incorporated the wings inside the main fairing. The package as a whole sounds complete, Planted agile, and goes ballistic up the top end if the rev range. I’ve always struggled with peaky bikes purely on the basis you have to keep chasing the sweet spot. It’s got all the great credentials for a race bike! High pegs low bars, great weight distribution, composed chassis , great electronics. But not much usable power under 7k! As a road bike you need torque to drive you. It will definitely feel great on a track, but as a road bike I’m really not sure. Only time will tell I suppose. It’s still all really exciting times:)

Started as testrider in Cagiva in 1989 and i´m still working in ducati as testrider and consulent since then .
so i´m know very well what i´m writing.
Realiability still a big issue for BMW and Ducs , telling that as insider , not customer.

Mostly people buy these to go on track and they forget that some of us like to strap a bag on the back of a bike and go and watch the racing. I want a sat nav plug in socket, I want to be able to throw a bag on the back - I am not looking to take 0.01 seconds of my lap time.

The 2015 Blade was great at this, my new R1 not so much :D (it took the paint off and had to buy new panels :(
