These some damn good ones now. I've mentioned this in another thread but brand new SP2 for sixteen friggin' grand! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2018-18-...752337?hash=item1cdbdc9b91:g:8-0AAOSws65dnNhT
The looks are a bit marmite but growing on me, I think the blue and red should be switched on the colour scheme, would look a far better bike
Some angles it looks really good, mostly it looks really good other than straight head on - but even then it is not that bad. This is a nice angle - lovely colours and the pattern works well with the shapes of the bike. It is going to be expensive and I am sure it will go like stink, and handle a dream. I am sure it will be a phenomenal bike. Really, and honestly, just a shame it doesn't have a cross-plane crank motor. You got to like that surely....
I’ve Seen a 2019 bike for sale at 14k with 1700 miles on the clock that’s 6k in less than a year old bike. I like the look off the new 2020 Blade just a shame I won’t be able to aford to buy one.
I’m liking it. Love the SP colours. Plus for those that take pillions out, you can now do that on the SP.
Putting the SP moniker on a blade that takes pillions just cheapens the SP branding for me should just be a Fireblade
having bought a 2018 SP, a one year old model (introduced '17) that has defects Honda seem unwilling to resolve. If I were you I'd wait to see if any latent defects show up in this one first. It is now obvious Honda's R&D department is the buyers of the first production bikes. However, I'm not all negative. I think it looks great, with no reservations. But will it work? oops.
I think it looks better in Black but I might be biased. I'll be tempted when my current PCP deal ends in December next year.
I really like it and will probably have a test ride, but I wont be buying one, maybe in a couple of years when the defects are ironed out and i've had all the enjoyment out of my R1M. To be honest even on track i wont use 215 BHP, so that means its just bragging rights, which at my age i don't give a shit about
I am just back from my dealer. Wasted trip. Learnt nothing. Pointed out that Honda UK is promoting the bike on its own website, but can't give a price or delivery schedule. I just hope they have their act together by NEC time. https://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/super-sport/cbr1000rr-r-fireblade-sp/overview.html I don't know if you could expire enjoyment of the R1M. It has timeless appeal, and a far 'cleaner' look than the Blade. At the moment I am trying to not be blinded by my love for Honda. I just reckon they will price themselves out of the market.
Some good technical info and diagrams on this link: https://www.mcnews.com.au/2020-honda-cbr1000rr-fireblade-217-hp/
I think you're right on both counts Nigel, the R1M certainly is something special, and yes I think the Honda will be very expensive, but having said that, some are prepared to pay silly money for Ducati's, so how will a new SP stack up against a Panagali V4S I'll bet its easier to ride quick.
Has anyone seen the video of Marquez test riding it?? He rates it highly....... Well he would do wouldn't he
It's a shame the Red not brighter ...I do like it but will have to see it in the flesh ....then ride one also it looks like the standard bike will come in tri colour as well if that's the case that's poor as it will be only the ohlins that sets them apart to the naked eye should be totally different paint job for your no doubt 5k more then a base one
^^^ Good point. There seems to be fewer and fewer options/extras offered to the SP buyer with each release. It also appears that the SP cannot be identified by different colour wheels with this release - yet another cost saving to Honda, and a disappointment to prospective owners.
I wonder if you might change your mind after seeing this, released today on Bennetts Feed: For me, it's grotesque, but once again, each to their own.
