I'm afraid i'm still stuck in the dark ages when it comes to anything made by Honda since the 2007 Blade, as far as i'm concerned Honda have lost their way since the 2007 Blade, i personally think the 98-99 RRW/X and the 2004/5 RR4/5's are the best looking Blades ever made :(

Sorry but that's just my personal opinion.

2004-2007 CBR is the last of an Era.

Can't believe someone else out there agrees. First Impression is the lasting one. Just check out all the Threads when the 2008 CBR was just released says it all. Though the Engineering is there as usual. Riders from all around ripped on the looks. Threads went on and on. And here we are four yrs later. The conclusion is the same.

What I don't get is that they always claim to be copying MotoGP bikes.
Just hope there was an Italian onboard the Bodywork Design Team this year.

I dunno, i never thought any of the Blades where lookers, apart from the original one. When the revised 2008 came out, it was only the second Honda i ever liked the looks of.

I narrowed it down to the RC8, the 848evo and the Blade. I think the Blade is nicer than most litre bikes, RSV4 and RC8 excepted.

I admit when it first came out i thought what the hell have they done. I thought it was blunt and ugly and would never buy 1.

It grew on me thou and i think it was the race bikes that changed my mind but now after 3 years i love the new shape and when i see an 07 it just looks a bit dated although i still love them and would own one any day

I can completely understand what you mean dan.1moore1,
back in the mid/late 80's when i got my first GSX1100R slabbie i thought it was the ultimate machine and vowed to never sell it, obviously once the novelty wore off and newer lighter more powerful machines began to appear i ended up selling the old beast but... Recently an absolutely mint GSX1100R pulled into my friends shop for a service and i couldn't believe how old and dated it looked!

So.... You never know, I may come to terms with the look of the new Blades in time?

My 07 Replacement would be the Red 09 that they Introduced ABS with. Then I'd put a Taylormade Exhaust Kit, Seat Cowl and a Dark Windscreen.

I guess I'm forever in search of a Japanese 916.
Ultimately, I will always be with a CBR or is it an RVF now.
And if the looks aren't quite there..........Love is blind.

Funny you should say that, lots of people have said in the past that my RR5 looks more like a Duke 916 or 918 than a Blade since i've modified it.

Preetttty bike (say it like the mafia don in the Italian Job (the proper Italian Job) just before he pushes Michael Caine's DB5 Volante over the cliff, and you'll get the meaning I'm trying to convey here).

I'm beginning to wish I bought my Ducati back off the insurance company now so I could have hung it on the wall....

    Nah!, divorces are expensive.

Fireblades are supposed to have a blunt nose. The 04-07 was the odd one out.
08-11 is easily the best looking bike (N.B. I did say bike, not Japanese bike).

Thanks for the comments, yeh red and gold are a match made in heaven.

I've always been the blacksheep of the family so that's probably why the 04-07 "odd one out" appeals to me ;)
I'd sooner ride something pointy like the F118 Stealth Bomber than something blunt like a WWII Lancaster Bomber :)

    Makes sense!
At least you recognise they are both death spraying war wagons.

Do you guys think Honda will try and match BMW on HP ?

    Isn't that about a 20 Hp jump ?

Also, I thought they have Governors limiting top speed at 186mph. I guess we can look forward to getting there that much sooner.

I think its just the American bikes that are restricted from what forum members have told me.. UK bikes are not

Yeh i think the speedo tops out at 186.7 mph but i know of a couple of people that have gone past max speed and apparently when you go over it just reads 888? Dunno how true that is because my bottle went at 177mph and i backed off.

There is nothing out there yet for the new Blade.

It's high profile enough that we will all see the pics as soon as anything's leaked or released.

To be fair, I think we all know it will have all the riding aids the other litre bikes have now got, so I will be more interested in the power and the looks.
