+2 I bought my SMX+ at last years London Bike show at Excel. At the show I tried mainly Sidi, Dianese & when I finally tried the SMX - boy how much more comfortable they were compared to the rest. I am tempted to go again to Excel in Feb & get a pair of Supertech's & sell the SMX on ebay ;)

Sidi ST's. All the looks and protection of the Vortice, but easier to put on. Got mine for £250 a year ago.

Me too mate! I found that you need to sit and play with them for half hour and get used to the buckle system. Now I understand them I can get them on and off fairly quickly and there are a few ways to make your life easier to fit them. Otherwise I just admire them while spending the extra time tinkering with them to get them on :D

I have always had alpinestars but got tempted away by the sidi vortices boot but never again I had them 6 mths and sold them through eBay they were extremely uncomfortable a pain in the butt to do up and I couldn't get them to stop squeaking never again so I went back to alpinestars SMX boot and had them over a year now and are so comfy will be buying a newer pair soon

Lol Yes they still squeak. It doesn't bother me that much though, in fact I kind of like it. I have heard of all the cures and potions, but never bothered trying any of them.
It's not just ST's though, it's Sidi's in general as my old vertebra did it also.
