Its where the weight is that counts and what moment of inertia they put out... However I'm sure they perform just fine.. And Martin BST RRP at this time is £2645.00 Cheap when you think a M7R from March is £3700.00 or a D16RR March rear ONLY is £7500.00!
so are all 17" wheels going to rocket or will it just be the mags and carbon ones that will be used for racing, as more companies will now be making 17" wheels you would think the price might actually drop a little
As far as any modification on my bike is concerned, the biggest difference I'd noticed was changing from the standard wheels to the PVM's A much better result than either the Ohlins in the back or up the front.
All the 17" Wheels will go up, already seeing them creep up and we are still a season off. Only ones that will drop are the carbon ones because no one in their right minds would have them. A.because you cant use them for racing B. cost C.lifespan.
New costs will be high, but don't you think there will be a lot of cheaper 'used' wheels available at the end of the season? You can buy (and have been able to buy) 16.5 inch rims for £600+ per set. I know these were for racing only as there were no 16.5 inch tyres available, but if all BSB/WSB and every other class of racing (apart from GP) are gonna use 17 inch rims there will be 1000's of ex-race ones on sale come the end of the season.
