Just an insight into Bmw servicing. A technician at my local Honda dealers decided he wanted to 'spread his wings' and was offered a job at a nearby Bmw dealers. He lasted Mon-Fri and went back to the Honda dealer with his tail between his legs, luckily for him they took him back. He was totally disillusioned with the Bmw practices. A bike came in to have the brakes checked, he said that he would strip the calipers, clean them etc, but NO, he had to price up new calipers and give the owner a heart attack. Another bike needed something trivial doing to it and again he was instructed that it was not Bmw procedure to spend time repairing a part when they can 'sting' the owner for a much higher bill. He said in the week he was there he saw a pile of S1000RR sumps that had been changed that were covered in rust. I think they have solved this now though ?
Well guys went up against a S1000RR on my little old under powered SP at a track day today and guess what, Blade out on top, however I did have my traction control switched off, oh that's right the SP doesn't have it ;-)
Its so good to read all the different opinions and choices. I personally love my bike with minimal interference (ABS, TC etc - No thanks) just something else to go wrong or need attention. not just me that thinks so...ask danny pedrosa! lol
