My issue is, by changing some engine internals, some more basic wheels, a production swinging arm, more basic ohlins etc. the bike could come in at a reasonable price point and be eligible for super bike. I'm sure it would sell by the truckload. It would be the reliable, viable alternative to the RSV4. Honda could always do what all other manufacturers do and have a base model and an all singing and dancing one.

If a new blade doesn't come by 2016, then I am swopping to the r1; after they have sorted out the initial teething problems. Mine will be version 3 or something. By the way does the new r1 have traction control?
The new r1 has a multi axis gyro, so it knows it's position relative to lean angle (as well as anti wheelie, launch control, advance ABS and more) thus it can set different levels of TC at all times, it's electronics package is the best yet. Other than that Honda of corse
My problem with electronics is your always questioning the settings, do I want level 1, do I want level 2, oh I had level 6 and I would have been better with level 5...and so on. What I love about my blade is you get on, put the key in and off you go, no setup, no modes just pure man(or bird ) and machine. I am into electronic rider aids but I just think they are a pain in the ass...maybe I am too used to simplicity.
Too many fcuking settings for my OCD decision making , wow multi axis gyro that's nearly as good as a gyroscopic camera off a gp bike. Don't think I can wait till 2017 for a tricked up repsol with toys
More irritating than this being out of my price range is discovering from the YouTube clips from Eicma that Marquez also speaks perfect Italian, is there nothing this wee man can't do well? He doesn't even crash badly.
Just another bike which ordinary people will never have the chance to own. They should have bought out a new blade instead. The current model has been out since 2008 with little change.
I really want one of these!! I have only ever really been a Honda customer over the years and I think in 20 years of being a rider this is the most desirable Honda sports bike I have ever seen. Here is my list:- RC45 , loved but could not afford at 23 my money was better directed towards beer/cigs. SP1 , it was £10k but I got one in 2000 when they were released still can't get this bike out of my head. SP2, still single and newly promoted to Cpl so I got one and adored it Honda Fireblade SP 2014, married with three kids now but trying my hardest to convince the Wife. The new RCV road bike knocks the spots off anything I have seen before but realistically I reckon around £65k so it will just be a poster in my man cave. I know I know be happy with what you have got. But I am Honda through and through and that RCV is amazing.

Pmsl....if it was that price they'd prob still sell out. If they sell enough (not sure of numbers) this would then get road production bike status and therefore homologation wouldn't it.... Therefore eligible for bsb, wsb and TT etc.... Much like the rc30 and 45 in its day?? Could be interesting....
No doubt it will sell out no matter what price, the world is full of the silly rich, some through hard work and some not...anyway whatever it will be no different to me being stood at Goodwood admiring some super cars that clock in at well over 200k.. then you will have the hardcore street biker telling his mates how the bike is waisted on some rich guy that can't ride it, however the owner will have prob won a TT for all they know....lol The GP bike has two gyros, two mile spec GPS, maps for each corner, even knows tyre temps for left,middle and right of front and rear tyres, plus disc temp, fork and shock telemetry, damper telemetry, fuel metering pump, g force sensors and so much more, I wonder what kind of electronics this has? Can't wait to see and hear one, if I can convince my rich mate who knows I may get to ride another GP rep for a while... fingers crossed! Bring on the full spec, the seamless gear box in the RCV race bike I am told is as complex as a Swiss watch, be interesting to know if this has that, I am sure it does. So come on Mr Honda let's see the specs!
