Cheers Rob, yeah you add fuel stabiliser (putoline) so petrol doesn't go off then fill the tank to the brim so no air pockets it stop corrosion inside the tank if the bikes sitting for along time! Normally petrol coats the tank when your riding or moving the bike but if the bike is static condensation sets in the air gap causing corrosion thru time also after oil change it's important you don't start the bike till your taking out of hibernation because same goes for the engine. Regard Trev
Hi Trev, I agree with all you say but when I got a Vac bag it stated drain the petrol out before sucking the air out???!!!. Regards, Rob. Please follow these simple guidelines when vacuum storing your motor bike: A. When preparing the item for storage, it is a good idea to drain the petrol tank or run to a low level as petrol loses its volativity after a few weeks and it will also tend to gum up the fuel system. B. It is also a good idea to change the engine oil prior to storage as used oil becomes acidic and can corrode internal engine parts. Ideally the item should be serviced before storage and not after. C. Tyres should be inflated slightly above their normal pressure to ensure there is no pressure bulge where the tyres touch the floor. D. Batteries should be taken off the item and charged periodically. If an alarm is required then there are two ways of providing the power - run battery extension leads out of the bag to your power source, or leave the battery on the bike and connect to a battery charger that is outside the bag. If this system is adopted you must ensure that the charger does not gas the battery. A suitable charger is a Batterymaster.
O Hi Rob, yeah ur right just read mine but I'm a bit suprised the instructions don't mention a fuel stabilitser to stop the petrol going off ie guming up, because that allows you to brim your tank! The less petrol there is the quicker it goes off

The less petrol there is the quicker it goes off a bit like 2 tins of old gloss paint 1 full n the other with a little in the bottom the full one is still useable but other's like a piece of rubber but yeah i usually practice and agree with it all apart from the tank part. Regard Trev
