I've had an Arai Viper GT for the last few years, Jimbo, and then bought an HJC R-Pha last year. It was a lot lighter and quieter than my Arai but also somehow felt a little bit flimsy and not as plush inside either. I ended up selling it after a couple of months. Partly because of the fact that it felt like the liner had already broken in quite a lot and partly because it just didn't fit my head shape. Went back to my old faithful Arai and when it comes time to replace it (shortly) I'll likely just buy another Arai.
Is a concern I must admit... Will try the hjc obviously before I buy, but do wonder if anything will feel as nice, IMO you get what you pay for with the arai....
Jimbo go try on the Scorpion exo2000 and see what you think buddy. I have the exo1000 and they are outstanding for their money. They've won quiet a few best buy awards for lids The get rid of the Leo and get a Yoshi
Pretty much the same with everything in life really. Buy cheap......buy twice. The way I always think with helmets is......if it's uncomfortable and doesn't fit right then you spend half your ride noticing it. Just get whatever suits you best. I had 4 different lids before switching to Arai and when I put one on it was like it was made for my head. Instantly comfortable. I can ride around all day and barely notice that I've got it on. My only complaint with my Arai is that it's noisy. Then again I always ride with earplugs in so it doesn't really matter.
I went for a BELL "Le Mans" and have been really pleased with it so far. Not a quiet as my old Shoei, but a good fit and comfortable.
Lovely lid that mate, apart from the funny writing on it? Is that to slow you down? I love the bells, just don't find them comfortable...
