@ £1100 ish its about ohlins money ? Is it ok to mix and match e.g. ohlins rear, ktec front or like I am thinking All one make Ktec front rebuild and 35dds rear or Ohlins 30mm cartridge and ttx rear I do like the look of the ktec, you know anyone there for a discount when the time comes craig (if you dont ask, you dont get lol)
Mate of mine has the ddsfront cartridge kit inside ohlins forks, with bitubo rear, handy mix of ll 3 lol. Id stick to one make or at least the ktec front & a rear shock of good quality, and i may or may not have a trade account with them, it may also offer discount (and fitting if needed)
Oh, and dont get a 30mm kit if your thinking of road use, itll be way too harsh for uk roads. 20/25mm max.
TBH I have now made my mind up on the ktec setup, the front forks they transformed on my 99 R1 were awesome so if I could ask for your help getting a good deal I would be eternally grateful Not sure what I could do to repay you lol but a few beers at the trackday might help ?
Cheers craig, thank god for you and arthur or I would end up with an empty bank account and bike thats worse for me
Understand the reason now for upgrading. But so much of the rest went over my head. I need to get my suspension set up as I have left it standard. So would like to look at getting what I have set up first. Also the Bazzaz get's fitted next year and Dyno time. then I may look at changing the rear Shock. But as said it's a minefield and I don't want to be spending money on something I won't need to get the benefits out of Are you looking at 1k plus for anything good? or is there cheaper option for road and track use. Again as Posted I don't care about the brand name just something that will go a good job and last
No mate, it's all ktec I'm looking at both bikes are just mainly quick road and then the odd track day in the blade so mainly road work he said he'll do me a re spring on rear shock and on front forks full service to roll in roll out about £400. That's a ktec authorised dealer! Oh and that bitubo stuff is porn!!!
Strip it out & send it to KTEC direct Benn, gives you something to do whilst your arms fooked. Ive just had 2 things sent to them a penske rear for an sp2 for regas and a dds35 for service, and both came in cheaper than using an agent.
Some simple advice is check out who is local to you that understands suss, book you and your bike in and get it checked over by someone who knows how to set up basic sag etc, most will not even charge for a simple setup but time is money so others will, you will only pay a small fee for a setup and it can make the world of diff to your bike, after that you need to look at the options talked about here, if your happy to try things with your bike there is loads of good guides on sag set up on youtube and the net, suss is not all black art, many people like me can setup suss for most riders but as for re working internals etc stick with the pro's..
This. Take the time to read up, earn about the effects different things have on your bikes handling, then try doing bits yourself. Ive found a few guides to tell people to read..
