This ^^^ If you have a PS3 it's probably better than any 3rd party Blu Ray player as Sony constantly update the firmware, meaning if any new functionality is added to the Blu Ray standard - Sony will update it. They did this when Blu Ray went from 2D to 3D. PS3 owners did not have to go out to buy a new Blu Ray player - they just updated their firmware et voila - 3D Blu Ray player I use my PS3 for 3D Blu Ray on our 46" Toshiba 3D TV and it's awesome!
agreed it's a bloody good thing BUT updating software on a 5 year old console is not going to give you the best quality when you have better hardware on new Blu ray players. if that makes sense. not that I would notice it but also the Blu ray players I have looked at are 4k compatible so thinking future proof sort of
This will keep you busy then:- 1) Try the Media Server App on the TV and see what devices that are on your network the TV can access. 2) Get hold of an Android device that supports Miracast and connect it to the TV via the Mirroring App. 3) if 2) works, then run your SkyGo account on the Android device to see if your OnDemand stuff plays that way.
OK now yourt just trying to get me confused but I follow you lol I got a HTC mobile around here so will give it a try
Lol, i did say it would keep you busy. Not sure if HTC support mirroring, but if you look in the phone Setting and then Display, it may have an option for a TV output via WiFi.
Ps3 mate.... If not, put orders in for ps4. as otters have said, Sony are constantly updating the FW, and it can do so much more as well as keeping the box count down.
To increase the number of Ethernet ports you need one of these. Or similar http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-8-P...071996&sr=8-3&keywords=8+port+ethernet+switch
I ill get a PS4 but not right away. Having bought the last 3 on or before lunch it took a while to get good games out so waiting for now. But as I said Si software is not going to make a PS3 better than a modern blue ray with new hardware and software
I also use one of these Netgear Home Theater Network Switch: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories They have to be hard wired back to the Router or Switch Netgear also do these if you can't make the hardwired Ethernet connection http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-XAV...78103280&sr=1-3&keywords=netgear+home+theatre
Strange one this, I did the log onto mysky etc.. said it would take up to 3 months for a little gizmo to get on demand. Low and behold added a new Ethernet splitter. fiddled with a few wires. Not touched the Sky HD cable and now I have Full Sky HD On Demand stuff like Iplayer, ITV player, Movies on demand and loads more than ever before. Box sets to watch. I the wife ever says there is crap all on TV I will tell her to get stuffed lol
