I'm a H&S manager so i guess my head is swayed to a 600 first then move onto the blade hopefully within a year or two. Been looking at older CBR600 to get first to carry on learning more.
Just an update on my slow progress. Picked this up at the weekend, R reg with 34k on the clock. Looks like a nice tidy bike and has had a few mods done, and some money spent on general replacement of worn parts. Road tested by the father in-law and goes as it should. Just need to find time to book the DAS and test now.
Great pick up and great looker. Nothing to be concerned about with that mileage other than checking the fluid basics. Also proves that bikes will sell in any season provided they're well-presented and well-priced.
Cheers nigel, seller was 5 min walk away too so bonus. Just need to get the test sorted now so i can start to enjoy it, rather than just look at it.
Had my first full day lesson yesterday on a CBF500, struggled with the control/difference in weight first off on the small test track but got the hang of it more on the ride out. Fully expected that to be honest with limited experience on a bike. Sat & Sun full days training with the Mod 1 Monday morning weather permitting (test centre in Darwen). Feel quite positive that i will be ready come Monday so fingers crossed with the Mod 2 planned for next Friday should have my license come next weekend.
Good progress. So sad that it is such a long road (and costly) to progress to full licence. Will be worth it in the end of course, and you'll be a more knowledgeable and safer rider for it. Not missing too much with the weather as it is at the moment though!
Must admit the weather wasn't the best yesterday, but thankfully had decent gear to protect me as much as possible. Forecast for the weekend is sunny but cold, mod 1 is booked for 08:30 Monday morning just hoping there isn't too much ice on the ground for them to cancel.
Hi ! welcome. I advice you same thing : get a normal & used 600 bike (eg : bandit or xj6), get training & experience on, for 1 or 2 years, then buy the bike of your dreams (blade).
Well mod 1 was cancelled this morning as the temperature read at -3 this morning and isn't much better at the minute! Re-booked for Wednesday morning should warm up later in the week, so fingers crossed, still on track for a full licence by the end of the week!!!
Yeah, will be much better for all under ideal conditions. Plus, it's not as if you're losing much now.
Best of luck in your MOD 2 today @Marzie take it easy and don’t be too nervous. Let us know how you get on
