IM over here in N.Irl and hes throwing in postage! he said he will do me a good deal on the visor too!But the price of the new type (quick release) isnt in yet!
My helmet half way on Saturdays ride with dark visor and hundreds of dead flys, My helmet with clear visor and gloves.
Its something i never worry about .The main thing is that you can see safely in sunshine that for me supersedes any law.Game over.
I'd guess its no change but they're easier to remove than carrying a second visor. I've never been stopped for my visor or even had it mentioned when I did get stopped by the police, I think the common sense of most police officers points in the direction of 'it's just the same as sunglasses' and theres no law stating how dark they can be to drive/ride in.
Just tried again and the pics are now ok.. I think I will order mine tomorrow.. What's a pin lock and does it come standard with this lid?
Arrived today with the quick release system,seem good quality will let everyone know how I get on after a few runs.
Bit anal but I went out and measured the base and its half an inch longer in the base to my old shoei,but it is a more angled at the back and the front has a bit of a point( not off road helmet) but just a bit . Took it out for a wee spin today 50+ miles and a few things I noticed<Quiter than my shoei,but I must take into account my shoei is now well worn and the padding is nolonger as snugg against my ears as I was when it was new!What I also noticed is I can hear the exhaust note of my bike much better now(sounds great)think this is due to the two exhausts vents at the back of the helmet.The venting is great too,today was quite warm and I opened up the vents and they are alot better than my shoei . But the main difference and this is what I noticed the most,now I'm taking into consideration that my old visor is scratched and the pinlock probably aint as clear as it use to be.But the only way I can describe the difference is if you were watching your portable tv in the kitchen and then you go into the sitting room and watch the 50" plasma HD tv.The apature of the helmet is huge your range of vision makes my shoei feel like looking through a letter box.Now i know the clearer view is because the visor and pinlock is brand new but its such a difference its huge and looking back doing your life saver you can see much further.And at 1250g it so light.It also seems to be more aero dynamic as the wind noise isnt as bad.And I will just add Matt was brillant and a great service.
On top of all the above I also found that buffeting at high speed is massively reduced and almost non-existent.
i have one and i have found the wind noise unbearable even with earplugs ,but mine has got the old style visor system, it is a bit hard to tell from the pictures but the new system looks to be a lot smoother around the visor hinges
right took the plunge and bought the quick release visor and mechanism as the wind noise was unbearable . there is definately less wind noise now as the new visor is much smoother around where it mounts , i would say it about as noisy as my old arai corsair now.
