Times wont even come into mate (at first) but i see what you mean they seem a bit off ? I know i have only done 1 but i started 11 out of 21 and got up to 8th but 2nd in my group and i couldnt tell you times ha ha needed a bigger helmet as the smile was hurting my cheeks in (even when looking at the ceiling of the ambulance lol). Your gonna love it buddy Just gotta get rid of winter now if our dates don't class ill defo be there to watch you
damn right you have to start. the grief you would get if you don't start next year, would make the grief you get for your bike/tarmac/scenery seem insignificant.
I won't be able to start at the start of the season tho mate, need a few trackdays to setup the new bike and get used to it first?
Balls to that. throw yourself in at the deep end. I had ridden my R6 for 12 laps of Oulton before I did my first race. Have a look at this: 2009 Yamaha R6 - Race Bikes for sale with V5 only - motoforum I know it is slightly over budget, but it is an 09 model. Only downside is stock suspension. May be a starting point though.
Wish I could afford this! http://www.trackdayriders.co.uk/tdr/forum/2006-r6_topic41473_post568484.html#568484
Here your ACU dates that Jimbo posted for Cadwell and others. Saturday 15th February Cadwell Park Sunday 16th February Brands Hatch Sunday 23rd February Snetterton Thursday 27th February Donington Park Thursday 6th March Brands Hatch Thursday 13th March Oulton Park
That is nice and comes with everything you need to get started. Worth every penny with all that lot on it.
No i think the new test comes in when this ACU 2013 runs out dec 31st please slap me down if im wrong but this is what i heard from a mate whos trying to get booked on a ACU old style.
I am just in the process of doing this at the moment. Normally you would do it online, but because I am upgrading from novice to clubman, I have to send in my old licence, results sheets and signature form and hopefully my new licence will appear in the next week or so.
well they are not taking bookings on the ACU days yet but confirmed if i have my license its £45 for the class room test. didnt mention new changes to the test? need to phone back next week to book my place on the 1st brands day looks like i'll be joining Jason (and YT ) in the No limits series...... they are still tight lipped on the race dates. wouldnt give me any info
Good on ya Jimbo, best thing you will do. EVER!!!! Will have to come and watch if I am not racing on the same days.
Cheers mate. If I don't do it next year it won't happen!! Was thinking of 600's etc but thought keeping the blade and going this route is the easiest way to start. Now need to throw some money at the blade lol
Take it you're going in the 1000cc class with jase?? I'm gonna be so lonely.. Although dunno if I'm doin no limits racing yet might just join a club.
Tell you what at this rate we could have our own "1000rr race team" do you think the forum would sponser us with all the very nice members we have.
This is probably in the wrong section but I might as well carry on with this thread. A few things you need to do to get bike to race / meet ACU regulations.i know wedgie and Robin no this but still handy for the people that don't. http://www.reveley.com/oldsite/convert/stage1.html
