The roads most of the time are pretty amazing Brad. You do get a few crap ones for a few KM, but once you get back on it, they are soon forgotten. I did find a few places off putting, usually the ones where longish climbs are involved you'll see oil stains where a vehical gives up and blows its engine, and around the Picos particularly some have a yellowish stain to them. "and cow poo" A guy who owned a local Cafe on a stop told us its due to the mineral content that gets washed down off the mountains and gets ingrained. he also informed us not to be nailing it on them as they are quite slippery & his riding carer ended on the Riańo road after he crashed and messed up his GSXR and of course himself.
