as giv asked in the 1st post here is the route we took on the northern run from hawes to hartside cafe Hawes, North Yorkshire, UK to Hartside Cafe - Google Maps with a little help from the firebloke
Midweek evening run to Hawes Evening run up to Hawes from Tickled Trout Hotel M6. Takes about three and a half to four hours including chat and tea. I normally go once a week if anyone fancies it when the nights get lighter. Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel to Hawes, North Yorkshire, UK - Google Maps
Full day Sunday Run- Kirkby Lonsdale to Whitehaven and back Devil's Bridge to Whitehaven and return. Great route along the West coast with good surfaces and very twisty roads. Probably a five hour run with stops. Only done this route midweek and it was very quiet, so not sure how much traffic at the weekend but if keyed into a satnav a faster more economical route is available so should be reasonable. Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria, UK to Whitehaven, Cumbria, UK - Google Maps
Broughton to Settle This route takes about one and a half hours and I usually use it as an alternative route to get to either Hawes or Devil's Bridge. Full of twisties as all of my favourite roads are and also takes in the remote village of Slaidburn where there's a delightful little coffee/cafe shop. Awesome views at times and reasonably quiet anytime. Broughton, Lancashire, UK to Settle, North Yorkshire, UK - Google Maps
You shoud join E to B up, via Penrith to Kendal (A6) then east to Sedbergh. From where I live Milnthorpe, 8 miles south of Kendal, a nice run to Hartside (cafe wlll be closed) takes less than one hour one way in the evening. More fun when the roads are quieter. We just need some warmer dry weather to enjoy it.
Met quite a few of you guys on the run out to Wales at the back end of last year. I love that A483 Crossgates to Newtown run and hope to hit it a few times this year. Definitely interested in doing some other North West ride outs. Perhaps I should do a search before asking but difficult on my phone at moment. Has a North West group been formed ? Is it possible to have a group email to inform members of a up coming event. Sorry if I m asking something that is already in place just struggle searching on my phone as mentioned earlier. Can't wait for warmer climates and getting out my bike soon, got serious withdrawal symptoms.
14' on Sunday , dry , come on lads this looks like best day of the year so far Oswestry, UK Sunday Mostly Cloudy 14°C | °F Precipitation: 0% Humidity: 84% Wind: 11 mph
I have just been out and that old wind is really bitter .But if its like you say on Sunday Barney I would like to see a couple of the chaps having a razz down your way
No county forum board has/is going to be set up officially as far as I'm aware. Concerns were raised that the forum would become 'cliquey' if we all had our own area page. Rest assured, any ride outs around will always be put up with plenty of notice. I agree, the last day was fantastic, great two forums met up and shared the experience.
I've just checked it again , rain sat, dry sun, dry Monday , If its like it says I will be out and heading for Crossgates two up on Sunday
