Its not Stevie, I was gutted at the RL Grand Final, Cannot see what Ben Flower did wrong, the guy deliberately elbowed him, and he just dolled out justice......the games going soft.
All those years playing on red or black ash football parks. And latterly the astro turf. Kids don't know how good 3, 4 & 5G pitches are compared to the glorified cheap carpets that started the artificial pitch era. And the severe burns you could get off of them.
As for rugby, I can't stand it. But then I don't really know the rules which is likely a large reason for that. I do love NFL though, and all it's technicalities. I have to laugh at the folk who say they are pussies who play it, and comparing it to rugby. The hits in NFL are way harder than the toffs rough housing game.
i found american football very easy to play... all that padding you don't hold back anything, however not much about in yorkshire
Played footy myself til my lad got to playing age.I was a noisy parent then got the parent linesman's job.Now I Co run it and are doing well last season. This season the under 16s is a bigger league and some very good sides in 1st division.Sundays is clay shooting when playing at home.AA class means shooting against British champions.Love it when I send them home with no winnings.Summer time is out on bike or clays.
The only comparison between rugby and American football is that the ball shape is similar, andnany simarlarity ends there IMO NFL is a game of human chess pieces. Who do you follow Ratser? I fly to over to Wisconsin a few times a season to see the top team in Titletown
