I work for a certain agency, and I generally have mercy and words of advice unless it's a total piss take, in which case it's the points and fine or a day in court. If a camera or ANPR can't read it then i generally won't entertain any arguments
Out of interest @Dave86 what would you consider “acceptable” to avoid a fine etc, assuming not legal obviously
I’ll hopefully be safe with my 8x6 then With the old golf I used to have German pressed plates, only ever got stopped in Suffolk. One particular time I just went past the turning I needed to go to a wedding. A traffic police car was stopped, I went to turn around and got a tug, copper came up to the passenger window and gestures to unwind. Guddentark, spreckon ze Dutch (sp). Best copper ever, got away with a replacement (in the boot) and a free escort to the wedding.
To be honest I don't carry a tape measure but if i struggle to read it at 6 feet the it's a piss take to me the ones that are taped underneath the tail are just a joke and can expect 3 points, no exceptions as it is clearly an attempt to evade the camera's
7x5 for me always....... Once had a 6x4 and got nabbed by the filth in Bala! 8x6 is reasonable but a 9x7 @bazzashadow?? That's standard isn't it
