They admin motoforum just said that the met police have come back saying the numbers arent legit and whatever i do dont buy it!!
Before anyone goes nuclear on the seller just bear in mind that they may not be aware of any problems with the bike.
Yeah he might be totally unaware and if he is i would imagine he will refund your money. If he isn't and he's trying to sell the hot bike it might be hard getting it back buddy. Id see what the police say but pester them mate as this is in a pile of paper on desk the more noise you make the quicker they will do it
YT............."he sounds genuine" ?? lol The V5 route is the only one id take buddy.......but yes I know that could be dodgy..... Well if he is you'll get your money back I'm sure..... and hope it gets sorted..... but if not I do know some good debt collectors who deal in body parts.........
Mate, I can't see the Police telling you what the issue is. Was it the police or has someone run a HPI check on it?
if you used a credit card to pay for it on paypal you might be able to get the cash back through section 75 credit card act.
Sounds harsh here, but at least its only 100 quid and not nearly 4k. I got stung for that amount buying an old blade. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOLKS READ MY TRACK/RACE BIKES BUYING GUIDE IN THE FOR SALE SECTION!!
give the guy a call and speak to him about it, worst off is you have lost 100£, think of it being a 100£ police check and you now know you ain't being f*ck around. I would see what the guy says and ask for the 100£ back saying the numbers have come up as a stolen bike, and you would be willing to give his address ( you should have it on paypal) to the coppers if he doesn't pay up……… could be worse, you have bought the bike and it been taken off you during a meeting
On the plus side YT you've saved ya self a long haul down to Cornwall and the one in Liverpool looks good! .....................then again aren't all bikes for sale in Scouse Land robbed??
*UPDATE* Since the bike I was gonna buy is in cornwall and im in york, and the police running the check are the met, i do not expect for them to get the ball rolling anytime soon. So ive spoken to the lad this morning, i have said that the numbers have come back as none legit and i would like my deposit refunded. He genuinely sounded as though he was unaware of this and said that other people have run checks on the bike that have come back OK. Dunno how much detail a check an average joe can get compared to the police? He has said he wants to contact motoforum and find out more before he refunds my deposit as for all he knows ive just pulled out of the deal. Ive said if hes to enquire about the bike with the forum i want him to do it today which he agreed to. So well see where this goes.. YT

Money back or not YT, I'd still be happy to bail for £100 and save the hassle and expense of traveling to Cornwall and back. The Scouse machine looks a better deal and is only an hour away!
