yet still don't think the time matched the crime mate! at all.....

seen people get way less for crimes which actually resulted in people getting hurt. act of stupidity but no real harm done imo. but then, perhaps if he showed a bit more remorse it might have been a bit more lenient.

Yup, it's still outrageous compared to the punishments doled our for FAR worse crimes with actual long reaching impacts. I also just can't be arsed listening to the "I'd kill him and eat his relatives to end the dynasty" mob.

    Oh yeah I completely agree.

The justice system in this country is crap. People get away with so much then they come down on others for very random acts.

Whole system needs a good overhaul with a seasoning of common sense.

From what I saw every threat he got was brought on himself, he was seriously gobby to some & then started crying about it when people offered to put him out of his misery.

If he had held up his hands and said he realised his actions were stupid and dangerous and put others at risk and was genuinely remorseful I'd probably agree. But he didnt so he deserves an equal and opposite reaction to his IMO.

He literally asked for the book to be thrown at him so excuse my lack of sympathy for him

It's quite a unique case I suppose and he was made an example of to warn off others from doing the same.

But looking wider at the case he has committed at least the following offences

    Driving without permission
    Holding 3 people hostage/captive
    Trespass on private property
Endangering others, to the point of attempted abh or gbh

I reckon you'd get 8 months alone just for holding people captive, how long would he have got if he had crashed and killed someone? Is it then man slaughter or murder?

agreed people do get away with minimal sentences for worse things but they time they get is levied against what has been handed out for similar cases in the past unfortunately.
