    Cheers dude...

Ive been having a close look at the fairing and OCD demon is shouting at me and i can't stop the bastard !! Its no good... Im off to my paint guy with it

If I've gone to all this trouble, its gotta be perfect ! I can see where they've layered the paint on too quick and its lumpy in places and the odd bit of snag here and there and a few runs which just bug me way too much !

I'm priming myself for the email I'm gonna send the Chinese... I need to word this right as i want them to feel my wrath and loose nothing in translation ! I also want to slap their paint guy senseless ! I could have done a better job with a tin of spray from halfords when i was a teenager

Automart !! You have been warned !!

On a good note, this just turned up :)

Would have been fitted today if it wasn't for the Chinese guy that can't lay paint on to save his life

When you said Chinese body work I knew you wouldn't be happy with the finish knowing your OCD :) The finish isnt anything like a proper paint job in the UK, they dont prep the surfaces like they would here.

Sorry to hear about the fairings, sounds like you won't be happy without the respray . I am ultra fussy (OCD) and hate any mark on any part of my bike.

Love the fuel cap, I have an all black rizoma one, but could not resist the all ally oberon one, same style as yours and I have that on atm, which I really like.

looking forward to seeing the seat, when you get it. Need to do something with mine but just not sure what to go with, but it has to be all black lol

Yep, been down to the paint shop and the guy agrees about the shite quality ! His gonna flatten it all down and redo it in deep gloss black and lacquer the hell out of it for £350, which isn't too bad but still could have done without the grief and expense... Not gonna be ready until the week after next either :(

So i haven't done anything to the bike today apart from ordered some gold mesh for the seat unit to match in with the hugger, and fitted the Oberon with the bolts i ordered from Probolt, that came today along with an all black fairing bolt kit.

Going to the show tomorrow so i have draw up a little list incase theres some bargains to be had ;)

I always was happy with FT, but i have always had an issue with snapping bolts. Think is because i did most of my early mechanical experience with trucks and heavy plant back in my youth, so most stuff was FT with a scaffold tube... The hours of misery I've endured over the years getting broken bolts out of motorbikes... I'm fairly good at it now and won't let the lil buggers beat me ! It can sometimes be a hugely rewarding battle..

I'm wondering whether i'd be just better off sticking with stainless. Mind you, the rear sprocket bolts were Ti and they torqued up to 65Nm's i think and i thought they were gonna go pop any minute, but they didn't...

Hopefully the seat will be here tomorrow, waiting for me to get back from the bike show ! Its gonna be such a good day :D
All being well, this guy doing mine could be your man ! I've seen some of his other seats that looked brilliant but for some reason he hasn't displayed any of his sport bike seats on his site, its all harleys and stuff. I'll see if i can find the example mate...

Well, after a lovely day at the show yesterday, i returned with all my goodies (Thread in the lounge "Show and tell" has more details of the goodies), and my seat had been delivered ! Looks beautiful and the pics don't do it justice ! Jimmy at Car and Marine interiors did a great job and had it back to me within the week ! Its had a custom gel seating used and I've had a perch on the bike and it seems really comfy... Same the seat unit isn't around to get the full effect, but it will look spot on when its all done ! I don't actually know what it is mate. I left it to Jimmy as i wanted something hard wearing and not too grippy. when i first looked at it i thought it was like that alacanthra or whatever its called, but its not, its smooth... And carbon look vinyl around the skirt..

Seeing its Valentines day (or so i was told this morning  ), i thought id treat her to a little love and tenderness...
So today i fitted her out with a new Hel's rear brake line, shortened to allow for the new rear sets, and a new clutch line :D
    [IMG][IMG]

Haven't started her few weeks or since all the new gizmos and pcv etc went on so thought id see if she'd growl for me... Wouldn't bloody start
Went through every plug, lifted the tank to check the fuel lines and connectors on the pcv and all that and all seemed fine... Then noticed id left an earth off of something and it had snuck down the back when the tank went back on !
Closed my eyes, said a little pray to the God of thunder, pushed the button and boom, she came to life first turn :D

Ran it for a minute of so until it became pretty unbearable in the cave with all the fumes from all the ACF-50 and cleaning products etc burning off the pipes and stuff, mixed in with the standard hydrocarbons !
Also got a digital radio for the cave from the other missus, so well happy now I've got team rock keeping me company down there ! Bloody good day all in all ! :)
If i could work out how to stick a vid on here, id let you listen to a bit of gentle growling
