Hahaha like I say that was a 1 off, his got a big delivery coming in think it's weighting 20kg so got a large amount of brembo bits coming in one of them being your m/c I believe, should be with him tomorrow if I'm not mistaken
Im trying not to think about it and get my hopes up just yet dude... Leaving it to the powers of the cosmos to do its thing (and for the Italians to get their finger out )
Right... Operation Blackness sit rep !! Not a lot been going down as everything is out of my control at the moment... As you've seen, Brembo RCS MC ordered. Chain adjusted and axels torqued. Everything gone over and tightened and torqued. Went to see paint shop guys today as last week they said it should be ready this Wednesday, but alas no ! It was still sat there, half of it rubbed down, half of it still covered in Chinese runs ! Next week sometime they reckon... Got the freshly blackened heat shield back in after our Gilesy pointed out what an eyesore it was and i must say it was a good point out on his part as it looks sooo much better now and you'd hardly notice its there
Just read this all the way through G and I am AMAZED. Absolutely stunning work. Oh, and by the way you can't have OCD, you must have CDO, the letters are in the wrong order!
Thank you for spending the time mate ! Its always nice to hear appreciation of ones work !! I can't really have OCD as I'm the messiest bugger around as her in doors will vouch.. Its just my bikes that need to be just so ! Maybe
Well, its taken me a while to track down my own thread since the apocalyptic fall out of the forum yesterday, but here we go again... I had to hide in the cave away from the computer most of yesterday and just stuck my head in the sand as if it was all just a bad dream ! Anyhow... The bike is chomping at the bit to get out and tear up some serious tarmac ! Everything is done and ready to go apart from the fairing ! I am still in major negotiations with the Chinese over their substandard attempts at spraying something black, and listened to every excuse under the sun... I might stick the conversations up at some point just for your entertainment value... I could compare it to the final fight scene from Way of the Dragon between Bruce and Chuck, but this time Chuck wasn't playing and kicked the shite out of the little fella They are now finally offering me compensation after i flided out at there last statement of "We are very sorry for the imperfection, and the fairing kit is not a piece of art as it couldnt be flawless." ! I don't even know what thats suppose to mean but they got a hefty reply !! So, yesterday the old bar weights were modified (twated in with a hammer) and the new Oberon bar ends fitted, but i have now decided i want Lightech lever guards ! My Brembo RCS mc was suppose to be in the country today but apparently there has been some hold up in Italy and they aren't here, again ! I've already boycotted ever eating a Chinese take away again after the fairing fiasco and i don't want to have to put pizza on a ban too The Italians did redeem themselves a little tho... I decided to set up my PZRacing gear indicator and thought i had done something wrong as it was flashing error codes at me. Truth is i lost the set up instructions and was guessing at it (like the bimbo that i am), and finally gave in and rang PZ Racing. Really helpful guy talked me through it (sounded just like Rossi, which was entertaining), and happy days it all works sweet !! Had to have it running on the paddock stand with me sat on it revving up going through the gears, which was fun, gassed the cave out big style again, but the neighbours must have appreciated the beautiful tones of the Blackness rhapsody Had slight melt down when i saw what a mess the new chain grease had made of my back end while it was spinning up and flinging everywhere, but best getting that flung in a controlled environment where it could be easily sanitised Hill4Leather have finished custom fitting my Alpinestar Atem one piece, so off to pick them up tomorrow in readiness for launch day which i reckon will be around the middle of next week...
Blackness is rising.... Got the call I've been waiting for from my paint guy and I'm picking the fairing up in the morning Let's hope it's dry on Sunday coz she's gonna get some
Well, actually Raph, I've found the formula that worked for what i was trying to achieve was about: 65% Black 17% Gold 16% Carbon 2% Red Haha
BEWARE ! The following contains scenes that might be too sexual for some people !! Well boys (and the occasional girl..), the count down has begun... Picked up the fairing at lunchtime and straight back to the cave to start the fun... Jeez its been a long day First job was to strip out my Motodynamics tinted rear led light and the mesh scoops from my old seat unit. Stripped the old mesh out and cut out and rivet new gold mesh in, and bolted it all into the new seat unit and mounted it... Sounds straight forward but had a bit of fiddling around to get it to all fit right but I'm happy with it ! The tank cover... Doesn't fit too badly once it was all pulled down and bolted ! This next equation should instantly ring alarm bells however ! Chinese + Powerbronze x Fitting = You must be joking ! I got Powerbronze carbon infills to go with the tank, and in theory look lovely, but they didn't want to cooperate with each other at all Honda say two screws and 2 hooks hold the lower infill in place, while Powerbronze reckon 2 bits of velcro will suffice I have some startling news for you Mr Powerbronze.... The top ones are in and will just need a tiny play with when i can be arsed again, but the lowers I'm gonna need to bond on somehow. Not a lot of meat to bond to either, and i don't want any glue creeping near the gleaming body work. Im gonna have to sit there for ages each side as i hold it in position while the glue or whatever sets as i have to do it on the bike to make sure the lines are spot on I'll address it again in the morning when i have fresh patience... I bolted the freshly upholsters seat on, stood back and admired Here's a little tease of what i saw
I always wear a carbon lid and cod piece too i'll have you know I was toying with maybe a seat unit at some point, but we are "Blackness", not Carboness my friend
Bikes looking good dude! But I couldn't cope with that smudge on the reg plate would have to replace that!
