I was thinking about this... Ive got to make like a case for it out of carbon to mount it in, so I'm gonna try and integrate some kind of shade/visor to keep the sun out i reckon !
Its a couple of inches away from the silencer although it looks really close in the pic ! The spec on the camera says its ok up to 142 degrees F, and if it feels it gets that warm I've got some self adhesive heat barrier i can stick over it maybe...
And just as i settle down for the evening, a neighbour tells me his had a package for me delivered to his by mistake... One HRC carbon intake !
All the brembos arrived today blackness so should have them very very soon, had a couple issues getting all the bolts and spacers needed for people but all arrived safe and winging there way to you and the others that ordered
Cheers Rodders, nice one ! I was starting to pace a bit and was considering doing a bit of sharpening but i'll chill now... No pressure but id like to be staring at them say, tuesday latest, yeah Thanks mate
Should be with you by then hopefully, Supplier for some reason decided to hold the order to send it all in one hit (waited on one set of spacer/bolts) But I got a pic of them all on his table this morning
After what seemed like days in the cave, armed only with a slab of carbon, a dremel, a load of epoxy resin and the insatiable urge to get a monitor neat an secured in the cockpit, i have finally emerged. Mounting this off the top headlight bracket and the centre nose fairing arm, so it sits tight against the left headlight below the dash. Its fairly shaded down there and I've lengthened the outer side to keep sun off as best as i can, so fingers crossed.. Monitor and lead sit snug inside encased I'm black foam, velcro holds the top on in case i need access. Just need to do a bit of finishing with some wet and dry, lacquer it and then get it mounted and plug it in !
Cracking job there mate. Well done, it looks really well made that. You'll have guys asking you to make all sorts now
Today i finally got a tracking number from the chinese ! It doesn't work, and the delivery site is in chinese, but i take it as its on its way finally ! I have spent ages trying to get a paint code for my paint guy to do the wheels gold. Thought id go with the same gold as on the SP's wheel but no luck... So i looked at all the anodising on my bike to see which shade worked best. Ohlins gold wouldn't work too well, so i took my Gilles rear sets in to the paint shop and we went through loads of charts and found a nice match and my painter is going to finish them in a semi satin to get it nearer the finish I'm after like anodising. Finally just got the monitor mounted in the cock pit and it looks real trick, if i do say so myself ! Linked it up to the battery and all seems to work nicely. Just got to wire it in properly now to the loom somewhere.
