On a happy note tho, i thought id try and rekindle a bit of positivity today and went and got the tyres put back on ! The tyre fitter guy got a bit sweaty while doing it after the gentle briefing i gave him about the importance of not scratching them, but all was successful ! Only fail was he then said he couldn't balance motorbike wheels . Said he didn't usually bother , so I've now got to find another garage to do that basic of requirements... Thought id stick the rear in for a little looksy and to give you boys something sexy to look at The thing that could have gone wrong was the hugger didn't fit again after i sent the first one back to powerbronze. They sent me another one out but this was the first time id see how it fitted with the tyre, and i have to say it is just about spot on perfect !! Unfortunately the shitty lighting doesn't do justice to the depth and colour of the wheels, but its a little teaser for now... Enjoy Also, Armstrong rear wavy and Suersprox Sprocket fitted with Ti !
Sorry my friend... Great minds think alike !! This'll have to do you for now but hopefully this time next week we'll be up to our ears in hardcore bike porn pics
Forgot to mention.. Also fitted a pair of super cute Bridgeport 90' valves. Got a new rear brake line in black, 40mm shorter than original as the rearsets have moved the master cylinder back a bit, and also a new clutch line to match. I got these from Mike at the Bikers Discount Store ! He gives a great service and always throwing around some discount, so don't forget his there chaps !! He also sorted me out two new stainless banjos for the new brembos for when they get fitted next week...
Cheers mate... Im really happy how its all coming together ! The paint changes shades depending how the light hits... It was really stressy while i was waiting to see how they'd come out as we went through loads of swatches trying to find the right shade, but its all worked out just right
Coming on nicely mate sorry to hear about the minor set backs no build ever goes 100% smooth. Glad to hear the replacement hugger was a good one. Can't wait to see it when it'd finished!
Not really a lot to report today I'm afraid to say... I could have had such a productive cave day, as such a sunday should be, but no, i went go karting randomly instead ! First time I've done that and I've got to say i had a damn good time ! Got the adrenaline going a bit as it was a battle of the companies so a good amount of rivalry and testosterone bubbling about... Made me really hungry for getting out on the track with a bike tho !!!! Anyway.. Got back and managed a bit of tinkering before settling down ready to watch a bit of Guy in India. Wanted to get all the wiring bits finished off and tidy. Last bit of cutting and shutting on the bike is now done, thank feck... Wired the transmitter for the camera into the rear light feed. Slight learning curve as it was doubling up as some kind of co-axel cable and had one of them, "shit, shouldn't have cut that" moments, but sussed it all out and all came to life when the key was turned, so all good This is what its arse sees... (its actually clearer than the photo)
I know mate ! The package is still in Coventry... You'd thought they could manage to have them down here for tomorrow ! I just hope seat guy can get the seat back by the weekend too... I may be getting ahead of myself but if next Sunday's weather is like it was today down here, then i could be doing a lot of smiling To finally roll her out from the cave, pretty much re-built and renewed.... The sun lighting up the deep gloss black of the body work all lovingly waxed, the anodised gold emerging from the depths of her darkness and her wheels catching the rays as they slightly change tones depending on angle and the carbon blending the two contrasts perfectly... That moment of reckoning as the key gets turned and her technology wakes and that purr as the fuel pump primes and readies to take her from an art form to an evil genius of rapid proportions...I could go on and on Its gonna be emotional anyway...
Jesus, you have got it bad, don't start talking like that on Friday "Shakespeare" people may throw flowers at you when you leave the show! Lol
Ive been in a confined space with way too many solvents etc for many weeks now... I think that could be some of the blame... And lack of much human interaction I'll sort it out by Friday ! Hopefully..
If I remember right Parcel Farce/Royal Mail will take it to your local depot. They then send you a letter with the import charge, reference number, and phone number to ring before they will deliver them. You could still be waiting a week yet
I know mate... They got me good like that with some gloves from the states a few weeks ago ! They also took 8 days or something to get from heathrow to mine. Ohlins from states with dhl, 4 days and they were knocking ! Its ok... Deep breaths.. Got plenty of little bits to finish off like fitting the brembos, chain, front carbon fender (when that finally gets here too) !
Hell yeah !!! She's having her pics taken cuddled up next to yours mate ! That'll be one for the mantle piece
