You'll probable appreciate my 12 year old sons bike then 1993 Kawasaki ZXR750 L1 Engine has 5000 mile on and took me 18 months to build from 4 bikes!
Just a quick heads up on Photographer. I have a guy on Twitter following me who is taking the day off to come down and snap a few shot's. If anyone is interested his Twitter account is @furrysmurfpete business name is PE Photography Check out his stuff here See you all there!
Hmmm interesting . When he gets to the circuit tell him to come to me first , or Alex Cause if he's taking pictures then we would like £250 off him first . Reason being we have too pay a fee to be there and I / we don't like other people Taking pictures and just loading them up onto websites . Let's hope he don't put any pics on PE Photography for sale . if he's seen taking loads of pics and a offical photographer see's him doing so then he can / could be removed from the circuit . It's not so bad if he's a mate and you know him but from what your sayin you don't ? This happens to be some peoples living .
Good point Barney and for those photographers like yourself its only fair that work which is hard to come by and is expensive to buy into is protected / respected.
Its a tough call on other people taking pictures - it may just be his hobby that he is working on to improve his skill to try and turn professional If you are the official photographers then its fair you get access to the infield / restricted areas but others do not - I guess its up to MSV / the trackday operator what they would charge him as its their track / event and what agreement you have reached with them on exclusive access. Most of his shots on his site are massively over photoshopped with colour / balance far from natural but he does take a good picture. This was given to me free of charge a few years back by a 'hobbyist' at Oulton who was playing with a new lens, was he wrong to do that ? I guess its the moment money starts to change hands that things get difficult
What's wrong with that ? Look what you've just said al . He give it too you for free ? Need I say anymore .
Just got the photos through that the guy took. He is looking ti go pro but as I said initially the guy just offered and on twitter. Never knew it was such and issue, but do get your point on folks making a living and all that. Still I'll be taking a look at the photos on Thursday on line at the guy who had the photo booth set up.
Was it your stall set up down the bottom end then Barney? Peter Wileman Photography or is that some one else?
Ray, that guy is down at racetracks all the time taking pics. I would imagine he has agreements with them and certainly wouldn't put any up of folk he hadn't spoken to. Maybe use them as part of his portfolio though. Really good photographer he is as well.
Pete has the rights to all no limits photography , Alex James works for Pete , I work for who ever . Don't know if it was Pete or Alex there yesterday , But what I can tell you is this , If this fella does take loads of trackday pics , He won't have a pass ( bib ) and he' ll be taking pictures fence side . And if he's selling them on to other people it's just a matter of time Till he's stopped going there , there's CCTV at every single corner . Not causing trouble or being a pain in arse but just telling you how it is .
Not a problem I've passed on the info and he's all OK with that I'm looking forward to seeing the photo's that come out tomorrow I'm lead to believe. Thanks for the info Barney its all new to me but I had a brilliant time yesterday so will be doing it again soon. Cadwell Park start of next month then I'll see what comes up.
A press pass is not easy to get believe me it not . Bsb forget it not a chance unless you have a publication you work for And you have 4 months of pictures that have been published . Wsb much easier to get a pass . Isle of Man TT easy fill in the form and your in Have a look at brands hatch media accreditation , nightmare just begins
