Got pulled doing in excess of that by two civvie wpcs( both were pretty and nice) gave me and Soonbedead on here section59 for careless riding through speeding.Done the crime didn't see them behind so hands up.Yes we could have outrun them in their Fabia but the radio would have caught us in the end.And when caught god knows what we would have got.
Up around Hawes where I ride the cops use a Subaru and I've often wondered how I would fare against it until one of my mates, quick lad, told me he could drive the roads far faster than he could ride them and if I ever saw it in my mirror, just give up and pull over. Also bear in mind the cops are also highly trained in pursuit instances...........so.....DON'T DO IT!
A rider has got to be mental or on a nicked bike to do a runner. If the latter I hope a crash awaits. Helmet off, bike off, license in one hand, be respectful and if needs be apologetic and you'll have done all you can to minimise damage to your license and livelihood. Coppers get sick and tired of dealing with lying cocky tools.
I agree with the above, I can defo push a rwd or 4wd through the twisties (hence my nickname)a hell of alot faster than a bike.As for high speed pursuit you may out run the car but the radio and helicopter are much quicker.
depends whos on the bike/in the car through the twisties as I have a few friends do the irish drifting championships and they cant keep up on the twisties in their heavily modded Subaru's. but I personally still wouldnt do a runner because the radio is faster than any bike/car.
My friend smoked POLICE on his ZX10 on the m56 to m53 headed to his mates put bike way for few hours an drove home Later on ,till knock on the door came! He Got 2years in HMP £150 to get bike out of compound an 2 year ban re test! he should of left bike an got lift home reported his plate stolen GET OUT JAIL FREE CARD
I got chased without knowing by an unmarked Mitsubishi gallant. only found out on my way home when I was passing him again and he swung across the road blocking it then jumped out and whipped the keys out of my ignition.five court dates later I got 3 points and a £200 fine.been a good boy ever since lol
Yeah, i was lucky. He said he was maxing his car out trying to catch up, we where still pulling away from him… didn't know he was a copper until the lights went on… I thought "ban" when he pulled us, no pint in running. To be fair, my mate could have got off and carried on, he didn't need to pull in with me. I suppose that had a bearing on just getting a warning. The copper did say his colleague was a mile down the road, and he would do us for definite…sure enough, a mile later another unmarked in a farm lay-by was there.
I have to agree, i've been lucky and never pulled by the rozzers but, I would not run. be polite and hope they are genital with me.
That's speeding what about stunting??? A few years back when I had a Yamaha TTR600 four stroke single, like a trail bike but a bit more road biased. Anyway sat at traffic lights, thought when they go green I'm going to loft the front and loft I did, when it landed I looked in my mirror and there was a bike cop right behind me gesturing to pull over. I Pulled over, killed the ignition, got off the bike and took my lid off. Bike cop came over and asked what was going on to which I stupidly replied "my hand slipped off the clutch" He asked all the usual questions and then told me to either get some bike training or buy a less powerful bike as I clearly can't handle this one. He also told me my rear tyre didn't look legal and told me to change my irridium visor when I got home. I took the medicine but it was realisation that not all coppers are the same. Needless to say I've never pulled a wheely since...well not intentionally anyway.
A friend of mine was on his bike, having just come of a roundabout he opened it up going into a long right hander (over the NSL). A police car was going in the opposite direction, both the driver and passenger looked around and put the blue's and two's on . Mate opened it up fully and got enough distance between him and the police car, that at the next roundabout instead of following the A road he was on (1st exit) he totally changed route (3rd exit) and dog leg it, throwing off his persuers I'm told that e&e (escape & evasion) exercises come in very handy In no way would I condone this type of behaviour
I was caught twice messing around. once was two community officers in a corsa, stopped for a wheelie and stoppie. gave me a ticking off and a £60 fine next time was a wheelie two up, ended in a court date and a few points but the original case was aiming at a ban.I said it was my first time taking a pillion and wasnt used to the extra weight that caused it to wheelie. that was over nine years ago when I ran about with a group of tricksters, we used to spend more time mono wheel than two wheels but thats all in the past now that the kids and wife are here :s
This is great. The quality of the thread composition and the general topic remind me of 1000RR.net and I'm always keen to hear what people would do, rather than what they have actually done.
I'd stop and eat humble pie. I got chased when I was 17 on a 250 Super dream, mate on the back, no L plates, speeding, not stopping for a pc in uniform and generally being a knob head. They let me keep my licence as I needed the bike to get to work but they fined me £300 and I was only earning £19 a week, nowadays they would have thrown me in nick!
I always get caught on silly things like 4mph over the limit (always bike cops too) Seven years is the longest I have had a clean licence...even got points the bloody Day they were introduced as my plate fell off when I was out for a run.
