Every sports bike should be tracked, or you might as well buy a tourer and tootle around the UK pot holed roads Get it on track, I want to pit my R1 up against it
That sounds like a challenge!!!! Let's do it, get Lozzy to pit bitch for you and I'll bring Mark along!!
Phew.......glad I'm in the R1 pit Poor Mark.....having to hold your hairbrush and the Ducati Tears of Sorrow tissue box all day
I took the RSV4 out yesterday and I was probably as quick or quicker than I was a decade ago and I'm still running it in. Modern litre bikes are just gagging to be tracked really, it all comes down to your risk appetite and bank balance. On a different note, I saw my first "new" Blade on the road yesterday. Shame it was going in the opposite direction, I'd like to have seen how it and the rider went.
I still buy track day insurance, can double the price of a track day but worth it for peace of mind, there does seem to be more idiots on track these days
Not used TD insurance for a while but I used to use Moris when I was taking my 1199 out and still pretty new to it all... IIRC cost me about 200 ish for a day but I'm pretty sure you can\could buy multi day policies... @SimonRR will probably be able to give better info.. https://motorsport.moris.co.uk/
Stomp grips fitted today, Lozzys been banging on about how good these are for ages now but I've always gone with Eazigrips and been dissatisfied with them. Stomps are alot more flexible when heated up, almost gel like, but you've got to be really really careful when you peel off the backing that bits of adhesive doesn't come off with it, plenty of heat and alot of patience is needed. Happy with the result though. No bubbles and feel a bit harder now they've cooled down and adhesive has gone off
Looking good mate. The stomp grips are very good but I find only on leather. My dainese suit stuck like shit to them but since I changed suit and it's more stretch panel fabric on the inner leg it doesn't hold so well.
First annual service completed today on the Panigale at Ducati Manchester. Didn't even ask how much is was going to cost when I booked it in, but they do a full check over every nut and bolt safety check from the ground up, all the fluids changed and I was really happy with the service. Found out there is a recall due which is a gear change sensor or something or other. So when it gets booked back in for that they're giving me a V4 streetfighter for the day so I'm having the day off for that!! So how much did it all cost ??? Was dreading it but when he asked for £270 I was pleasantly surprised was expecting a figure starting with a 3. So even had enough money left in the bank for a haircut on the way home!!
So much nicer now….. just a few more to go Paul Btw the Official Ducati oil drain time on the V4 is 4 hours!! Bonkers…..
we have to use motrex oil at work on the ktms prices have gone up loads last week 4 ltr now retails at £82 . it's madness. a 1st service on a 1290 now is about £280. a full fluid ect is near £400.
