Right.. after a lot of messing around, finally found a hole on the stand that I can get enough elevation to lift the front of the bike, and that the lifting plate bolts do not foul the shifter rod (Gilles rod is across the frame). Had to get the grinder out as the long threaded bar (that I guess needs to be that long depending on which hole on the lift suits your bike) fouled on the top lift pivot bolt and bent the threaded rod.. its now half the size.

The large bolt through the lift adapter plate into the stand is now fouling the bike frame and has already marked the frame.. and in doing so stops the top adapter plate frame pin from going into the bike side more than 15mm.

Not leaving the bike on it alone yet until I can see if this measurement into the lug is enough to secure the bike.. what a faff..

    Pics in a mo..

Bike up but not trusting it yet..

    IMG_3354.jpg

Top Frame pin only locates into the lug 14.5mm

    IMG_3357.jpg

Rod bent as I attempted to lift the bike not noticing where it was going to foul.. completely my fault..

    IMG_3342.jpg

    Now cut down.. IMG_3353.jpg

Adapter lift plate bolt fouling the frame (and bottom frame pin fully home into the bike):

Tried phoning Nigel but understandably at 9pm at night, he has shut it down for the night.. everyone needs a break from work so will talk to the guys in the morning. Steve / Martin, just a question about the top frame pin.. does yours go into the bike more than mine?

Yea that pin needs to go in more, this is what I tried to explain a couple of weeks ago when the question was asked about aftermarket rear sets, the shift rod is in the way, I did say it would not work with a standard lifter plate but 1jac should be able to make one up which is spaced out to accommodate the shift rod.
They advised it would be fine as is but........

Gilesy , it usually goes all the way in. If it doesn't then I give it a helping shove. Lmfao

Phone nigel or Chris they'll sort you with a different plate like I said earlier .

Steve.. when your stand is out of the bike, and standing on its own, does the main upright part of the lift sit back a few degrees - i.e. not 90 deg to the horizontal?

Yeah I think nigel told me the whole thing leans back approx 4 degrees. This is what stops the bike falling off the pins. I think it looks more than that but hey ho it works a treat

Can't take a pic as I can't lift owt heavy yet, I'm still recovering from me hernia operation !

good stuff - I thought that was part of the design but just checking :) since the bolt head and bottom pin are bottomed out, that top pin cannot possibly go all the way in.. and you can see the shift rod is not fouling

What's stopping it going in ? You got the distance between pins right? I wasn't joking sometimes I have to shove the lift slightly towards the bike with my knee. It goes fully in then.

goes fully in when no pressure applied, soon as I lift the bike the top pin comes out slightly..????

    Angles of lift I guess

The standard plate was always going to foul the shift rod of aftermarket rearsets.

Tbh, I gave up trying to explain my question.

A tad unfair criticism I think guys, trying to contact someone on a one off at 9pm at night. Also the stand and fitting plates are supplied to fit your standard. Bike . If it was stated it had rear sets I suspect the modified fitting plate would have been supplied to begin with. Only saying ............................!

I do believe Gilesy did ask in an earlier thread about whether it would fit aftermarket rearsets and was told yes by them

The question was asked I answered no it wouldn't work but I'm sure 1jac could adapt the plate to fit with rear sets quite easy, 1jac said it would be fine as it was
