The PCV has a map switch facility. I had a custom map done by FWD (My R6) & the oem map & could switch between them. Any toggle switch can be used. Why.....because I could I guess. I often switched between maps to see if I could tell the difference; I could, but its wasn't night & day in that case. These things optimise what the engine can achieve with regard to a power/torque curve but I have never been blown away.
Mine definately feels more like a 20lb feathered crimbo critter than a 180HP wheelie machine!! Every since I fitted the M4, hoping the PCV might cure this lack of enthusiasm? Just felt a lot more like a wild animal with the stock exhaust, in the words of whats his face of jurassic park i've gone from velociraptor to turkey!!
I would agree (and also my brother) with the above statement. Mine now lifts the wheel at 7-8k in most gears with some hard throttle Also made my brother think about swapping his big bang R1 for one after riding it with PCV fitted
can somebody please tell me why my power commander is different, on the video below at 2.30 the guy is connecting the pcv harness into the 6 pin connector block, but as you can see from the pic mine is only a 3 pin connector, why is it different please http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhQiKR9Ugeo
There are two different model pcv, slightly different wiring connections only, the one you have Fez goes to each injector with 3 pin connectors, the one in the video has 3 pin connectors for the outer injectors but only one connector (6 pin connector ) for the two centre injectors, it's as simple as that
I'm very interested in getting a PCV, but there doesn't even seem to be a stock map for a 2012 bike on the site yet. I've got my Akra system on the bike now so I am sure a fre flow filter & PCV would make it sing.. Does anyone know how much a dyno session would cost, I guess if there are no std maps I'd need a custom one? Ozz
Hi mate, I've got a 2010 RRA as well and I got mine done last year and it made a big difference! I have a Leo Vince Evo II Gp pro can, K&N Air filter, PCV + 02 eliminator also a map switch that mounts on the left hand clip on, it gives me 2 maps, full power baffle out & economy baffle in! It's pretty awesome to tell you the truth! I paid £150 to a local guy for custom maps but he fecked it up so I phoned Dynojet as I got his name of their website! They could have been anymore helpful! I got a refund of the local twat and Dynojet done it free of charge for me! It did mean I had to ride to Preston to get it done tho but I know it's done right
No shing in the end, and after advise from some other members on here, I decided to use a UK based company (roarfactory) and approved supplier for Dynojet. I figured that although the initial price on the link above was low, after import duty/VAT + post etc. the total landed cost would have been perhaps only £20 saved in comparison to the UK prices and that would of also meant a longer wait and no dynojet tech support should anything be faulty/go wrong. If I were you mate I would use roarfactory, seemed a good spot by Fez.57 and Im happy with the result. There was a post somewhere talking bout the Juicebox Pro for £200 new maybe worth looking at... Hope it helps
Hi YT Did yours come with an O2 Eliminator or was that addtional costs? Doesn't appear to say on the roarfactory site, unless I'm missing it. Cheers
I am getting a pc5 + k+n on mine next couple of weeks as since i fitted a yoshi it has been a bit lumpy on tickover .Found a place in Warrington that can do dyno runs so I have asked them to do me a custom map and set my hm quickshifter up. Chatting to the lad in there he reckoned a kill time of 75 for midrange , I have had it on 65 but still get the lunging when changing up have tried lower settings but not higher ones so see what they can do on the dyno , saves me going up and down the motorway trying to get the settings right.
I haven't tried setting up my own map but from what I've heard you need a fair bit of knowledge and the patience to match. Going to a professional for a proper custom map setup on a dyno will mean you ride away with peace of mind knowing the bike is right and the smile per mile factor has just increased exponentially!!!
Totally agree with using the pro's, don't know huge amounts about bike tuning but been into cars for years. Can do more harm than good if its not right
Just had my gsxr set up on dyno with pcv make a total difference much more smoother. Projex gsxr 1000 l1 dyno run 163hp @ back wheel - YouTube
