There was 1 place you couldn't, it was a tight chicane, and you had to obey the cones and not overtake there.
Glad you had fun and brought the bike home safe. Dunno how i feel about riding there and back but hey ho. Is it worth getting a garage spot if i get there early enough?
I suppose so, yeah. But we didn't know what the fek we where doing, so decided to keep the bikes outside as most go the bikes in the garage had warmers, tool boxes, mates helping etc.... We just felt a little intimidated and being our first time, suffered from noob syndrome. Everyone was great though, and gave us tips etc....
Glad you enjoyed it Si, as track riding really is huge fun and a great way of building confidence and learning an awful lot. If you have got the bug, then a dedicated track bike is the way forward for sure. We will watch this space eagerly!
Cool. Good write up and pics. Really glad you enjoyed it mate. You'll have an ear to ear grin for days now.
Really enjoyed your write up Si and the pics. Loved your openness and honesty. Sounds like you had a really good time. Thanks for sharing Si, excellent.
You will have a smile a mile wide for a week! Funny thing is, when you try to explain the feeling to non bike people, they just dont get it & start talking about foozball....
Cheers Ken. Yeah, we both thought that we where well out of our depth. Both of us had new tyres, big chicken strips the whole lot. Yeah the fast lads overtook us easy, no probs about that. By the afternoon session, and knowing the track a bit more, people where getting in our way all the time.... It was a huge confidence booster, and bloody brill. Going out the outside on the dirty part of track for overtakes was ace... as for Craig, he just carried on as if nothing had happened when his coolant pipe blew, he was non the wiser for at least 3/4 of a lap! Everyone backed right off, and when I spoke to him afterwards, he did say the pegs where all Slippy and the back tyre was squirming....haha, yet he still carried on. It was only when his light on the dash was flashing 168 deg, and a marshal was pointing for him to pull up, he switched off. I hope he hasn't done any long lasting damage to it as he's using it for our Italy trip? I did think it was oil though, as I couldn't see anything out of my visor, and when I flipped it up, loads more sprayed over my glasses. It was only when I saw one of his samcos detattched, I knew it was coolant. He is still buzzing though, and like me, enjoyed every minute! We are looking at Oulton in Aug.
Enjoyed the write up, we've all had that churning feeling in the stomach on the first one . Looking at your trailer , what make is it and would you get another one?
I think I'd rather hire a Van myself. I'd always have this worry some Dick would rear end me (no jokes) whilst gawping at the Bikes on board!
Cadwell dont really have garages mate. everybody just parks there vans in the field set back from the mountain
Well done mate, you beat me to it.I'm hoping to do my first at Brands on the 9th may with soonbedead (Tristram).Anyone done Brands hatch any tips to do or be aware of?
