Im well excited for tuesday!! Just really worried about taking my blade... Everyone who I've told at work that its cadwell have said "ooof, be careful...". Great pic SI!!!!
Great write up, glad you had a great day!!! I always get SO excited to go to a track day!! Churning stomach is the right description, Scooby!! I wish I had a dedicated track bike though... Then I would be able to push myself a bit... But so far I have ridden to most of my track days, and my bike is my only means of transport so always have that at the back of my mind... Having said that, that was ll done on a 600, I am taking the Blade this year though!!
Cadwell is my favourite track that I have ridden so far... Very technical and narrow at places, but SO MUCH FUN!!! Like a roller coaster!!
I'd have to sit with a track layout and point at things, or talk while looking at an on board video... Only things i can think of off the cuff are - Go up the Mountain in the middle.... The hairpin after the curves can be a bit damp in the mornings as there are overhanging trees... The corner after the hairpin you can short shift to third and that feels better to me... After Mansfield, and before the Mountain there is a chicane sometimes... Be more in the middle of the track to take that chicane... not all the way on the left...it is a right-left chicane. Charlies and Goose Neck are great set of curves!!! I really love that track!!!
Yeah I've watched quite a few videos on youtube of the track, just well well excited and keep checking all the weather forecasts like every 5 hours lol
There's quite a lot to think about tyke, especially your first, you will be nervous, but I bet you'll be chomping at the bit to have another session! Hahaha it's marvellous! I slowed down on the straights as it wasn't that long anyway ( strange but true) and enjoyed the corners ( I loves me twisties) and loved catching peeps in the corners...great fun. It's not a race, it's about enjoying yourself and you'll learn more about the bike ( brakes, tyres, suspension and steering) in a few sessions than any road ride! So there's at least more experience gained dude! I can't wait to get out again, yes I'll still be nervous, but this time it will be good anxiety and I can't wait! You'll fall in love with your bike all over again I can tell you. ive a lot to learn about track riding, but it's going to be immense fun getting to know the ropes. Hahahaha
Had my most fun at Mallory Park, chasing a guy on a track 600 and me on my road 600f. Took 3 laps to get past after he made a mistake on a chicane. SEEYA!!!!
I'll have a go at Oulton in Aug with you mate. Bloody addictive. Read your write up (excellent) and want to get back out!
Si, let us know when you've fixed a date for Oulton in August and we'll jump on with you. Myself, Andy, Jason, maybe Gary and Barney.
Well that's My July and maybe August fix sorted just need a June date now, come on Steve or Andy choose a date .
Page 38/39 in the honda manual that was tonight's reading what do you reckon 10.5000rpm . Tyre warmers have arrived and tested.
A great write up Si, felt a bit nervous reading it too!! Sounds like quite a few dropped bikes. It's the only thing holding me back especially after just getting the bike back after low siding on that diesel spill 2 months ago. Mind you, no f**king diesel spills on the track.
