Like i said earlier in the thread, nothing wrong with the HF Pro stuff, oh, and its made by the same folk behind King Dick tooling...
I have Halfords Pr and used for years. built a kit car and never failed me. But I also have a lot of Snap on tools, some Facom and Brit tool which are bloody good. I got my 60 peice facom ratchet set for £35 instead of £150 which I bought online on xmas day. was back up to £120 the next day. So had a steal with that
No offense at all mate, but TBH, I'm ignoring your advice here as it comes across as a bit fanboyish Halfords Professional tools are excellent quality and good VFM.
I have a snap on tool box like this without the side box cost me £200 for the top box and £250 for the bottom
Halfords are doing a deal at the moment. If you purchase the Pro 7-drawer ball bearing chest with the Pro 5-draw tool cabinet together they'll do the pair for £200. Halfords | Halfords Professional 7 Drawer Ball-Bearing Chest
Sorry it wasnt meant to offend I know what you mean. I too served my time as a tool maker, I have worked all my life until recently on the tools, and have still got what some on here would call crap tools in perfect order having used them every week for 31 years. Its not all about the label. Now I am a tool in management!
Halfords are wankers end of! and as for peeps comparing snap on boxes to halfords pro HD beanz boxez thats just pathetic! Right here we Go forget money what would you choose a HALFORDS BOX OR SNAP ON? I am all for this buying on a budget and home tools not hammered like work gear but i will say it again halfords are wankers i will never buy anything off them weather it be a bike bulb or box!!!!!!!!!!:hand:
Hmm, personal issues with Halfords here methinks. Not being funny, but out of the multitude of mechanics (home, work & race) on here we all agree its good stuff, bar yourself.

Hey ive never heard a bad word said about maxton all i have heard is its mint on par with ohlins for less dosh! you on the other hand say there ok but ohlins is miles better
No offence taken Shameless! I too came off the tools many years ago. I am the MD of my company now and am not a tool snob by any means. I just believe in buy the best you can afford.
When i get rid of my £24k a year job and get £100k a year job I will buy snap-on tools. untill then I will leave the £300 digital snap-on torque wrench where it is and use my £80 Halfords pro one. To get the equivelent of what I have in snap-on would cost well over £10k. Ive only spent about £1500 on tools in halfords including the chests to put them in.
24K a year nice well i buy snap on facom mac bacho and beta and i am on 22k a year! You have fun with ya halfords gear mate
At the end of the day if you use the right tool for the job and use specific torque figures (as any engineer would do) then most makes of tools will serve just fine, and i'm not talking blackspur but you get my drift............
