Just wondering that myself. Lovely shot the top one. Route Napoleon maybe? Can't wait to get over to France/Spain again.

Come on Danny Boy, I've got a 5 year old boy as well (awesome age)...but, I split my holiday as such:

2 week family holiday in the summer - Muchos importante
5 Day biking tour (just me)
4 Days off - Father & Son time (whilst Mrs V goes away with the girls)
2 Days off - Biking long weekend
Rest of the time is left open for doing stuff

    You can make it work

Can vouch for that, the N85 is one of my all-time best biking roads.

I try & plan as far in advance as possible. We'd booked the 2012 family holiday within a week of getting back this year, & did the same the previous 2 years. Saves any last minute monkey business & you get some really decent discounts for booking that far in advance (like 40% off car hire).

2 Week Family holiday - August - Menorca off the beaten track. Flights, Villa, Hire Car booked

5 Day biking Tour - July - Undecided. Either another Wheeltrax tour in Germany (safe option - done 2 so far) or something different A) Route Napoleon to Cannes, nip to Monaco & back B) Over night ferry to Northern Spain. Dump gear at a B&B & spend the next few days ragging through N.Spain, S.France & the Pyrenees. There's always space if you fancy joining us. It's never that expensive either.

Long Weekend - May - Undecided Again - Either S.Devon/Cornwall (what I did this year), or we were toying with the idea of N.Yorks & the moors.

It's all about balancing work, family & solitary time for me.

Hey V, if you ever are passing through Exeter way, give me a buzz beforehand. The kettle's usually warm at Casa Ken.

Vino - never done the organised thing, me and pals just go! but lucky as my pal bruce loves all the organising and route planning so almost like being with a tour operator!! option A is briliant, you wont regret it.

dont germany last year and loved it, but we stayed in one place which i thought was a bit restrictive, like to stay somewhere new each day. im planning on going down though france, over to span then back via ferry late june time.

always have a long weekend to, done the s.west last year in may, but fancy wales sometime in the spring!!

    its good to plan early.

I'm a fan. They're run well, the food (half board) is generally OK, the accommodation is OK as well. The main benefits are that you can dump your gear & go off riding some excellent roads & don't have to worry about getting lost, fuel stops, lunch stops & how to link them all together. You can just take your brain out & just focus on riding. On the riding side, you can also ride as fast or slow as you like, everyone in the group is catered for.

    I'll definitely do another one.

Hey, ask anybody. If there was one member on here that they would like to see bricked up in the spare room wall, it'd be you mate.

Cheers Ken - I'll take you up on that. If we do the Devon/Cornwall thing this year, we need to find a new hotel, as the one in Salcombe is shut for renovation

Good thing about Wheeltrax is you don't ride the same roads every day, so it's properly varied and they just get better & better. Gelbachtal has to be my favourite west German road.

Not thought about Wales....that could be interesting + could get some recommends from Dan?
