You get a replacement nut with the kit that has a hole in it. There's also a rod that goes from one end to the other and you just bolt the two sliders on each end.
Defo better without, I used to get tempted then made the decision not to bother. Plus with the ABS if you plan on taking a pillion you smash the hugger.
No one daft enough to get on the back with me, plus I have no pillion insurance through choice (saves a few notes). I'm also on a diet so hopefully my nice carbon hugger should survive! Fingers x-ed!
You know whats weird is I had it in there for a laugh to start with as I work offshore one month at a time and when I took it out when I came back the house felt empty and my mates (and even my mum!) said that the room looked empty and something was missing so its staying there for the winter now!!
I totally gutted my house and redone everything before moving in. I moved a radiator and had to grind channels in the stonewalls. So I made a false wall and took the wall in 2 inch and used a piece of gutter for running the cables in incase I need to remove the TV or any cables run. Looks pretty good and the plaster work finished off the room.
got my baby back last night so got busy straight away fitting my parts back on. did the PCV+o2, gear indicator, tail tidy, rear sets, crash bobbins and radiator guard last night and the exhaust and brembo this morning it dried up a little this afternoon so took it for a little test ride and it feels excellent. looking as good as ever! hopefully a dry day tomorrow for a proper ride out!
