People always quote numbers but the dyno is only a tool to see where you are, it only lets you know what direction you are going in, and depending on who makes the dyno and what factors they use and calibration they can be miles out, for example to give you an idea ive seen bikes read 156 on one and 172 on another! If you want to have a shoot out the bikes all need to be done same day same time same dyno otherwise the numbers mean very little, my bike makes 176 at dynotech but tbh I could not care if it was 150 what I do know is it leaves gsxr's that have yosh cams etc etc and make 186 at cresent the drag race does NOT lie! Also the numbers from crank to wheel are +/- 11% Posted on my HTC Sensation with Tapatalk
See, even the crank to wheel disparity changes, i got told 15% from motrac, others say 12% and others say 10%, Arthur says 11%.... Arthur, you will get the old addage that if you beat him, he was short shifting or he missed a gear blah blah blah....or you are simply a better rider..lol.
Btw, a standard blade is 152 ish at the wheel judging by most journos and the manufacturer?? even that changes all the time!
OK, i'll put my tampax back in.. It just appeared as though you were drawing comparisons with a fella who was giving it billy big balls when I am merely stating the info i have been given in order to inform those interested in my PC5.
Not at all mate. Im all for the bike looking good, its way enough performance as standard, i prefer to spend mine on bling! On another note, we where out on Sunday, and a guy who was on a k5 gixxer with loads of mods that was with us said that i must have had performance mods done as he couldnt catch me.... i went past him as we both opened it up at the same time, and hes convinced ive had the bike fettled....
lol nice..! I tell them "my bikes stock, no mods, yours must be sick...lol" Or like you say "I just have larger [email protected]" 07's make real world 156 and 08's around 162.. Its funny how things work out for example I did an S1000RR full Akra,PCV,etc and it made 196bhp on the same dyno mine made 176 but my bike leaves his all the time, seems all the electronics just slow him down...lol Oh well.... Good old Honda..
I blew an s1000rr round pembrey on my mates rr7 repsol . The bmw owner blamed it on me being 12 stone compared to his 16 stone .." What ever trevor "ha ha
Is it not just willy waving??? I can get a dyno to say mine puts out 180 bhp at the wheel by getting the variables adjusted. Anyway, that's a cheap PCV.
ha ha... bit like me (14.5 stone) on my lil r6 blowing a pal of mine on his a k5 (12.5 stone) and his mate on his k8 ex bsb bike he runs in bemsee away on my 3rd track day..... they hated that!! and i got video evidence to remind them of it... sweet... should have heard the excuses.... makes you laugh.... the bloke who was filming it all got past me in the vid in the end, because he was more experienced and got better drive out the corner! simple.... (oh he had a faster bike though lol)
LoL you get them every where . Its male pride or something lol If i ever buy a track bike it will be an R6 . They're awesome
Apart from when they act like a typical Yamaha and try and kill you. My 5EB Pre Injection blew its clutch one session then next time out hit a false neutral mid turn, putting me and bike on the wet grass, it then decided it like gymnastics and attempted an olympic class routine and proceeded to smack me on the back. i hate yamahas,
My 08 r6 got hammered!! 20k on the clock through trackdays, tours and Sunday blasts. Never missed a beat and had the best front end of any bike I've ridden!! Was awesome....
looked lovely, rode like a nail. no power, drank like a fish, horrible horible thing, and it had EVERYTHING on it.
Hi sorry to back track but after reading as many road tests and reviews on our beloved Blade as i could find over the last few years it's a fact that Blades after 2010 must have at least 164bhp at the wheel before leaving the factory (same dyno for every Blade built) that suggests there will be some with more bhp than others that sort of explains some of the differences in tuning results (claims). Anyhoo it's all about enjoying one the best Thou's to grace our roads and rider input is by far the best mod you can ever get! Learning and developing skills i.e throttle control, visual point and anticipation etc, not only builds confidence but make you a faster and safer rider!!!! AMEN.
Not the case, mass produced tolerances dont enable that kind of thing, on average 1 in every 25 blades gets dynoed nowadays, most will make 160 plus, and should be high 6o's at least, but there is always the odd one perfectly balanced or the odd one with less power.
I stand corrected it's just want i've read, we are makin the same point tho no two bike are exactly the same and that's why custom maps are the way to go for you own bike and that helps contribute to the differencies on the dyno. I have a Leo Vince GPpro evo 2 slip on and a K&N airfilter on my 2010 Blade does a PCV make that much of a difference? Does warrant the cost?
Problem is people see a PC as a wasy to get extra power, its not, its to make the bike more tractable, iron out restrictions in the power curve ie some bikes are heavilly restricted at certain revs to pass eu noise limits, the extra tq, tractability and mpg a pc3/5 produces is worth its weight in gold.
