BRY. Having looked at your symptoms .I comfirm that you have a classic case of Seasonal Affective Disorder S.A.D .There are various ways to help yourself ,one being ,Plug the Fireblade into a good quality Battery Charger and then lay still for a couple of hours per night under the headlights which from a bikers point of view should act similar to The Therapy Lights used by other sad people hope this helps you through until next spring .Doctor Giv.
didnt have an optimate lead on mine when new but always have them here and managed to fit mine tucked in the little gap ( between the 2 bolts) at the front of the seat frame where it bolts to frame just under back of tank cover. you wouldnt know its there when tucked in.
It looks like you all put me to shame with all of the love and attention being spent on your blades over the winter, I almost feel guilty now!! I have to admit to riding mine whenever I get the chance through the winter, but have been caught out on ice before, so if the car windows are iced up in the morning, blade stays put in the garage these days.
Hang on though, mate. You could wrap your 'blade at the beginning of winter in half a dozen layers of vinyl and when one gets crudded up, peel the top one away. A full bike tear off.
I just cant bring myself to think about this yet. I haven't had the Blade that long and i need to ride it some more!
I feel your pain Steve, had mine just over a week now with a whole 24 miles on the clock, the first week it spent its time in my mates garage getting high def to within an inch of its life while i painted the blades new home, now it's home I hope to get out tomorrow for a few miles? And to get to know it a little bit more
I remember when it came out earlier this year, it had little mould spores growing on it.. gonna clean it a couple of times over winter this year.. its not away yet though, have you seen that sun out there today?
My bikes never get tucked up for winter. I will ride a bit less in winter, but any dry days and I am out on the bike. As long as the roads are not icy I will ride no matter how cold it is. I once picked up a brand new GSXR 750 when it was snowing , yes it was stupid, but I had waited two weeks for it, it was a nervous 30 mile journey home. I do prep the bike for winter though. It gets a double polishing and I grease the heads and threads of nuts/bolts etc. Now I have a Blade again I can push a little harder in the cold, my last bike did not handle as well. Also there does seem to be less speed traps in winter.
My blade is going to bed this weekend. I was gonna do 1 final ride on Sunday, but can't now, so wash & polish, apply 1000rr decals, front & rear stands on & cover. Still got the bike show to look forward to, the close of WSB & MotoGP, and stockpiling a number of bits for the bike, to be fitted when the weather improves. Roll on March 2012.
I hadn't forgotton nutty, sadly i am broke, gonna try and do some work tomorrow to get some cashola, to save sunday's ride... not looking good for me though
