I don't put my bike away totally for winter, i do commute on it when the weather is ok (by ok i mean not hammering it down with rain or full of snow and ice), otherwise i ride to work and on the crap days i use my car.... nice and simple, i keep my hand in over winter with riding, the bike gets used over winter (always the best option), and i get to use my car for when i just can not face the rubbish weather..... i like my system.

On a slightly alternative note, i like some of the ideas on where to put the Optimate lead, but the one with the Optimate cigarette type socket.... any pics of this ?

Now that is really neat, i do like that a lot. It that a standar Optimate ? My connector looks nothing like it, and it the socket in the blade just a standard 12v one you can get from anywhere ? That is the nicest and neatest solution to the Optimate question i have seen, very well done.

Thanks for that bud, like I said it was a bit scary drilling into the new tail tidy but I wanted an easy point to plug into that also looked neat, just buy a tm-78 female socket, and a tm-72 male plug, it takes a second to connect it up and i love that. hope that helps.

I pretty much ride through winter - unless my thermometer says its freezing or below or there is a chance of rain. Living on the south coast means we don't get much rain throughout the winter

mostly remal - cannot bear not to be riding and as I said the weather down here is mostly dry through winter with crisp sunny days. I have heated gloves so the cold doesn't bother me too much

never really had a problem with any of my bikes in that department - but I am one of these people that if I see a spec of dust on the bugger it gets a clean instantly. So if she does get wet or dirty even if its a slight smear the cleaning cloths come out immediatley until I am satisfied ( or my OCD allows ) me to get back to being on here :)
